His Undercover Lover by April Zyon

HUL2

Blurb:

Working undercover either has its perks, or it has serious downfalls. For Megan Jenkins, working as a stripper to uncover the illegal activities happening in Massey, TX, was definitely not her idea of fun. If she’d wanted men to leer at her half naked self, she was pretty sure she could have come up with something a lot more entertaining. For herself at least.

She’s been driving him more than a little crazy since he came to town. Simon Markham isn’t the sort of man to give up though. As a Marine he understands the need for stealth, and is more than willing to let things play out but only to a point. When Megan’s case begins to show promise, and not the good kind, he isn’t willing to stand idly by any longer. Whether she likes it or not he plans on watching over her, each and every single inch if he has his way.

Things begin to unravel for the Mayor of Massey when Megan and Simon stumble onto new information. The man becomes so desperate he actually kidnaps her to ensure she can never speak of anything she’s learned. But Megan knows that Simon isn’t about to let the man get away with it. Her Marine will come for her, and God help anyone in his way.

Time is ticking, the noose is tightening, and the bad guys think they are free and clear. They didn’t count on the DEA, and one very determined Marine to put a serious dent in their plans.

Rescuing Megan hadn’t been in his grand plan to woo her, but Simon isn’t about to let anything get between him and the woman he loves. Come hell, or high water, he fully intends on marrying his undercover lover.

Excerpt:

Holding his cup up, he tipped his head to Mercy when she refilled his coffee. “Thank you,” he said. When she patted him on his head, he rolled his eyes.

Brant Carver, Mercy’s husband, was laughing into his own cup of coffee. His expression changed to something softer when Mercy moved closer to him. Lowering the cup, he let her fill it, tipping his face up for the kiss she dropped on his lips.

Unable to help himself, Simon rolled his eyes again. This time, he knew no one saw him do it. They were too into one another. Taking a drink of his coffee, he set the cup down, and then began to drum his fingers on the table top. As the kissing continued, he progressively got louder, and louder.

Finally, Brant pulled away and turned a glower on him. “Is there a problem?”

“Was trying to determine if I should go to another room or not.”

“Why would you?”

“Well, given past experiences, I figured you were about ten seconds from tossing her onto the table and stripping her naked. Or maybe stripping her naked, and then throwing her on the table. Little unsure on that part. But I knew the end result would be something seared into my memories for the rest of time.”

Simon shot Mercy a grin as she turned pink. Brant was a rather interesting shade of red as well, likely more pissed than embarrassed, though. “Just saying it like it is. We all know how you two are, and you asked me over here for a reason, so spill it so I can get back to helping Vic with whatever insane project he’s dreamed up today.”

Brant really didn’t look amused, but he did seem to agree getting down to business was best since he let Mercy go and faced Simon across the table. “I need a favor,” he said.

“Gee, like I didn’t guess that from the phone call I got.”

“Are you always this much of a smart ass? Rhys never once mentioned you were a smart ass.”

“Rhys doesn’t know everything about me, or any of the guys really. But he does know I have a tendency to be a smart ass when people behave like I’m an idiot that needs to be led around by the nose. Spit it out already, Brant, or I’m heading out and you can talk someone else into being the sucker to watch over Megan.”

Snorting at the stunned look he got from Mercy, and the barely there flinch from Brant, Simon sat back in his chair. “Really, you two? Anyone that’s been in this town for more than an hour, and pays even the slightest bit of attention, knows that something’s going down. The fact that I happen to know several people out in this neck of the woods has allowed me to draw my own conclusions.”

“Like what?” Brant asked suspiciously.

“Well,” he drawled slowly. “Like the fact she’s not actually a stripper. She’s an undercover DEA agent working on a case that happens to have deep roots in Massey. I know she’s been digging around looking at the mayor. She’s also looking to see what she can find in regards to drugs being funneled into and through Massey. She’s close, but she’s missing something. Otherwise, she’d already be out and on vacation instead of going into the club every single night to shake her nearly naked ass for singles.” Simon shot Mercy a quick look before focusing on Brant again. “I know you’re DEA, you’re also the agent in charge down here since being reassigned so you could be closer to Mercy. You have a number of big busts under your belt, several commendations, and narrowly avoided getting stuck on the hook from another bust when some wanker took a case from you and fucked it up royally. Got his dad, your boss at the time, fired as I recall.”

“Close enough,” Brant muttered.

“You can’t go in to keep an eye on her since everyone in town knows your face. That and the fact you’re married to her twin sister. Might raise more than a few brows, and it’s not something you want getting around. Plus, given the smarts of the folks in Massey, they’d soon clue into the fact that you weren’t there to watch the girls but because of your job. Questions would then be raised, and if spoken of in the wrong place, the whole operation would go tits up, as it were.”

Brant grunted at him, and crossed his arms over his chest.

Taking it as a sign to continue, Simon took a sip of his coffee. “Good brew, by the way, Mercy,” he said. “So you want me, a single guy, new to town, to go in and keep an eye on her. It won’t seem too strange if I’m hanging around, especially given the fact that Crank’s out of town visiting relatives, and Vic’s making kissy faces at his bride. I’m odd man out, and need to find something to fill my time with at night. How am I doing now?”

“Rhys never mentioned you were practically a mind reader either.”

“I’m not, but I know people. I’ve also taken a few behavioral courses from the Feds over the years. I also have degree in psychology. Never put it to any use, but I figured I could always use it if the military didn’t work out, or if I needed a career when I got out. I watch people, take note of what they say, and what they don’t say. Then I start adding it all together.”

“Well, you’re right on pretty much everything,” Brant told him.

“So what am I wrong on?” Simon asked.

“Not much, except the premise I’m asking you to take on. Given you are new to town, and have been seen with Megan a couple of times, I want you to go in as her new boyfriend. Unhappy with her working the club, but since she’s bringing in the big bucks and enjoys the money, you’re there to keep an eye on her while she does work.”

“Uh-huh,” Simon said. “And you’ve cleared this with Megan, right?”

The look on Brant’s face said it all. “Not yet,” Brant told him. “Wanted to see if you were up for the task first.”

Snorting, Simon shook his head, and closed his eyes to rub at his lids. “She’s going to shoot you, you do realize that, right?”

“Probably,” Brant said. Oddly, the man seemed pretty happy about the thought. Idiot.

TEASER EXCERPT:

“Where have you been?” Edward snapped as he sprang to his feet.

Guy laid his hat and jacket on the chair on top of Edward’s then offered a conciliatory smile. “I have begun to seduce her, as you wished.”

Edward stared at the younger man. His face was flushed and beautiful with youth and happiness, and his eyes sparkled silver-blue like the snow under the crisp winter sun. He reached out and caressed Guy’s cheek, rasping his thumbnail against the stubble on Guy’s skin.

“How was she?”

Guy glanced at his feet and cleared his throat.

“Guy?” Edward’s heart pounded hard beneath his white cotton shirt as an idea began to unfurl in his mind. “Guy?”

The artist met his gaze and smiled. “She is…as you described. Beautiful, cultured, well-mannered. Though she was also…”

“Tell me!” Edward was surprised at his own tone. He had sent Guy out to Anne, knowing she was a widow now. She had been widowed eighteen months, in fact, but he’d been abroad when her husband had passed, and only returned six months since with Guy in his employ. As a widow, previously married to a much older man, Edward hoped she would now be ripe for the picking. All his memories of Anne were of a tender, voluptuous, sensual woman ready for marriage and mating. He had held back from taking her during their courtship in spite of his burning desire to make her his as soon as possible. He had been prepared to wait until they were safely wed before he bedded her, but then she had given herself to another. A fat, greasy businessman who was surely no match for her elegance and beauty. Yes, it was true that she had no family name to match his own, but he had not cared a jot for that. After seeing his parents’ loveless marriage, Edward had harbored no intentions of marrying for money and social connections. Perhaps he had been a romantic, a dreamer, a fool. Yes…he had been a fool because he had believed that she loved him as much as he loved her. She had broken his heart in two.

As he would hers. With Guy’s assistance.

“I went to her home as agreed, Edward. It didn’t take much to encourage her to allow me to sketch her.” Guy didn’t finish his sentence but Edward knew what he meant. Anne had allowed the artist to see her naked, in all her milky-white-skinned beauty as he had longed to do. Well, he would see her thus. And soon. But it might take one or two more visits from Guy first.

“But you did not…”

Guy shook his head. “No I did not take her fully. I kissed her and caressed her and tasted her. She really has the sweetest flavor, like honey-cake and madeira wine.” Guy licked his lips and Edward pulled him into his arms and kissed him hard. He pressed his tongue between Guy’s teeth and plundered the younger man’s mouth, desperate to find some trace of Anne. Guy responded to him, running his hands down over Edward’s behind, and squeezing his firm cheeks until Edward knew that they’d continue this until they were both spent.

Edward pulled away and stared into Guy’s eyes. “Will she surrender? Do you really believe she will?”

Something flashed across Guy’s face and Edward wondered at it for a moment. Was it guilt? Regret?

“I believe that she will, Edward. I truly believe that. She is lonely and needy. I don’t think she has been loved as a woman should. She is not like the others.” His golden eyebrows met above his aquiline nose as he frowned. “They are grasping, clawing, and it’s all about them. But Anne Blackburn, she responded so sweetly and so tenderly that it was hard to leave her. The others I could not wait to escape from once I had attended to their needs but with Anne…”

Edward swallowed hard. He could see in Guy that same affection growing for Anne that he had once felt. Was it because Guy was his lover and they were in some way similar in their tastes? Guy did not usually lust after women. He had lain with women of the ton for Edward’s sake so that his plan would work, but when they took a woman together it was Edward who desired the female presence most. Guy just seemed to go through the experience to please his patron. So Edward was surprised that Guy actually seemed to be attracted to Anne. Yet he should not be, because she truly was beautiful in an innocent yet worldly way. She was a walking oxymoron of naïve experience and virtuous passion—a spring waiting to be tapped like the one in Bath which offered restorative properties and improved health to those who drank from it. Would Edward’s mind and body improve under Anne’s tender ministrations? Lord knew that he had not been right since he lost her. He had never again experienced that same joy and hope that she had given him during their brief courtship. And though he knew that he wanted to hurt her, he also knew that a life without her in it would be a dull life indeed. But crush her he would to avenge himself for the way she had torn his heart and life to shreds.

“Undress, Guy.” Edward pulled off his own clothes and watched as his lover did the same. When they were both naked, Edward pulled Guy to him and kissed him again, this time more tenderly than before. Guy ground his hips into Edward so that their erections met and their mutual arousal intensified.

Edward reached around his lover and slipped his finger between the artist’s tight buttocks, sliding it into the tight heat that he longed to penetrate with his cock. Guy gasped against Edward’s mouth. “Let me suck you first.”

“Yes.” Edward allowed Guy to lower him to the bed, then he surrendered to the hot mouth and tongue of his lover, his pleasure all the sweeter because he knew that the very same lips had so recently caressed the woman he loved.

Blurb:

James and Micah both face serious illness. Checking off things from their bucket lists, they find themselves drawn to a club like none they’d ever experienced. From the doorman’s leather kilt, to the waiter’s jockstrap uniform, they thought they had seen it all, when a tower of masculinity in leather and stainless steel walks onto the stage and turns the couples lives upside down and inside out.

Excerpt:

Micah made the landing and stood watching James ascend. A few seconds later, he reached the top and looked around. They found themselves outside a door almost as dark as the night, set into a wall of cimmerian brick that disappeared into the gloom on either side.  The doorman standing beside it was equally striking. He stood taller than James’s six feet, and wore only a black leather kilt and heavy boots that seemed to consume the lower part of his muscular legs. No one would dare challenge the man. His torso rippled in ways James had never seen before. His face was rugged, covered with a few days scruff trimmed precisely along his jawline. Before he could think of what they should do, the doorman spoke.

“Welcome to Razor. What’s your pleasure tonight?”

He stood speechless as the deep bass of the man’s voice resonated through the night. “The music. The music is wonderful. We caught it from a few blocks off and wanted to hear more.”

A smile emerged on the man’s face and changed him from executioner to guardian. “Of course, the music. You’ve found the right place. Just in time, too. Tonight is drawing to a close.”

He grasped the bronze door pull that was easily as long and thick as James’s forearm and opened the massive door with little apparent effort. He motioned them into the portal with a wave of his hand. “Go. Enjoy yourself.”

EXCERPT FROM KEEP CALM AND EAT CHOCOLATE:

I stood and took a step towards him. I kissed his cheek on my tiptoes, then pulled back quickly, in case anyone saw. He grabbed my arm and held me close.

“Was that for me, or the money?”

“I don’t have any money. Remember?”

“Good.”

He put his free arm around my waist and drew me against him. He was quite slim under his over-sized shirt, and warmer than me. I had to tilt my head back to see his face. He smiled so I closed my eyes and waited for his lips, but they didn’t come. I opened my eyes again and raised an eyebrow.

“I wanted to savour this moment,” he said, and squeezed me a little tighter.

“Why? It’s just a hug.”

“It’s not just a hug. You’re smiling. I haven’t seen you do that before.”

“I smile all the time.”

“Not with your eyes. You get a little crinkle at the corners, and your blue seems to match the sky when you really mean it.”

My face flushed as he gazed at me. No one had ever looked at me like that before. He wasn’t aroused. He wasn’t groping me, or trying to stick his tongue down my throat. He just looked. It was a little uncomfortable, but nice in a strange way.

I opened my mouth and took a breath, so I could tell him to let me go before someone found us. He leaned down and pressed his lips softly to mine.

Book blitz: Candle Magic by Elodie Parkes

NOTE from author:

Thank you for hosting ‘Candle Magic’ on your blog today. Thank you so much to all my readers. I write from my heart so you have a piece of it. Happy Holidays.

About the book:

I got the idea for this story very late at night as I shivered in a sudden downpour of rain on my way home from work. It was still summer at the time and although late, the sky was still quite light. That happens in Britain where I live and often dawn comes in at around 3.30 a.m. How do I know this? I’m often still up writing or playing around with graphics for book covers. I’m lucky because my day job is in shifts so often I can grab a few hours’ sleep and still get to work on time.

Here’s the blurb:

When Simi finds a pretty old candlestick among the discarded props in the company storeroom, she never imagines it will grant her dearest wish. There’s something mysterious about the carved candlestick, but Simi is drawn to it. She’s saved a red candle from a box she bought years ago in an antique shop, and intends to use the candlestick to hold the last candle and make her solitary Christmas lunch more festive. It’s Christmas Eve, there’s sleet in the wind, Simi slips, but Jason catches her. Who is Jason? Where has he suddenly appeared from in the night?

Simi looks into the eyes of this gorgeous man and sparks fly …

Erotic fantasy romance from Siren Publishing and Elodie Parkes

The mist parted. The sight of a man walking toward her captured her in a spell. Simi stared at him, unable to move.

He flowed slowly toward her, and then he was there in front of her, extending his arms to hold her. His cornflower blue eyes, fringed with dark lashes, filled with emotion. He smiled at Simi and she registered how handsome he was, how completely gorgeous he was, before magically she was in his arms. He held her close.

Gratitude surged through her. Her heart opened to soak up the love he gave her. His face close, Simi yearned for his lips on hers, and then—he kissed her. It charged her whole body with such a surge of raw sexual energy her pussy drenched her inner thighs. She drifted in a heavy fog of his kiss-induced lust.

The softness of his lips changed from a gentle, loving merging to a hungry searching as her tongue met his.

Naked in his arms, Simi pressed against his hard body, her clothes strangely gone. Yet she accepted that as ordinary when his hands swept over her skin and grabbed her ass to lift her against his body. Her stomach contacted the hard column of his erect cock, and she sighed into his mouth.

At around ten, the party guests started to thin out. Simi cleared away some empty dishes and bottles. She was bent over the table when someone came up behind her and grabbed her around the waist. Surprised, Simi gasped and squirmed around to find it was Carl.

His beery breath hit her full in the face. “Hi, Simi. Christmas kiss?”

Simi wanted a Christmas kiss, but not from Carl. “Where’s Angie, your girlfriend?” She eased out of Carl’s grasp.

He let her go. His eyes filled with sadness and he shrugged his shoulders. “We broke up. Sorry, Simi, didn’t mean to be obnoxious. You looked so inviting bent over the table. Nice dress, lovely stockings. Where’s your man of the moment?”

Simi felt sorry for Carl. “Sorry to hear about the split. I thought you two were a done deal.” She didn’t remind Carl there hadn’t been a man of the moment for the three years she’d been at the firm.

A huge sigh escaped him before he answered. His voice dripped sorrow. “I thought so, too. I love her. She said I was a flake and so untidy it was driving her mad. She stormed off on Monday and won’t answer my calls.”

Simi didn’t know what to say as his eyes filled with tears. He was untidy, but he wasn’t a flake at work. She gazed at him sympathetically, her own eyes spiking with tears in response.

He blinked. “I’ll help you clear up a little.”

The Love Commission by Vicki Ballante

The-Love-Commission300x450

Blurb:

Gelsey is a savannah sprite—a fairy in Africa who works to preserve the earth. She’s a pro at eco-balance, but when the fairy queen gives her a commission to become a human to learn the meaning of love, she’s miserable. She has to give it her best as it’s the only way to get her dream job—to save the African Wild Cat.

After a short time in her new life, Gelsey is swept into the world of Evan’s love. Now, she must make an impossible choice—give up her life with the man who owns her heart or lose her fairyhood forever.

Excerpt :

When Evan took her home, she gladly walked toward her door. She took out her keys, but he held her by her waist, stopping her.

“What’s wrong, Evan?”

He didn’t speak. Instead, his gaze focused on her mouth. Was he waiting for her to say something?

“Oh, thank you so much for the meal. I love seafood.”

He smiled but his face drew closer to hers. Heat sprinkled over her at his closeness. He was about to kiss her. She’d seen a human kiss once while saving a domestic cat from being killed by a neighboring dog. The couple had stood by the front door, just like Evan and she were, and their mouths had connected for a long time, like the touch of an insect on a pond, suspended, causing little ripples. She’d walked away, almost disgusted with their strange behavior.

Somehow, everything seemed different. Something rose up within her—a hunger for his skin to touch hers. When his mouth rested on hers, tingles and warmth flooded her body. She wrapped her arms around his shoulders, pulling him closer. Their lips seemed to dance together with unplanned movements, each one a drum beat stirring up something powerful in her body and soul. Here was a magic she’d never known. Had any fairy experienced this before? Did they know what kissing felt like?

Much to her disappointment, he pulled away but placed his palm on her cheek. “I’ll see you tomorrow, my love.” His nose touched hers, and she tried to kiss him again, but he pulled away.

“Kissing can wait.” His eyes held a tease.

He drove away, leaving her standing by her front door. For a minute she felt lost, unable to remember what to do next. Then she laughed at herself. Fumbling with the key, she went inside and lay down on her bed.

Strange dreams punctuated her sleep—visions of flying up a mountain, something she’d never done. She swam in the sea like a sea fairy and had a stomach swollen with human child. The last one made her jump up with a start. What if she did become pregnant? The queen or Ziana hadn’t mentioned the possibility. All Ziana had said was she should take a special pill from the start of her time in the human world. The pill would stop her from having a baby, just as the humans were in a habit of doing. Ziana obviously knew she would never fall pregnant if she took the medicine. At least she was safe from bearing a human child. If she bore a child, she would be stuck as a human much longer, if not forever.

Ziana had also told her to study sex. She’d read some articles on the Internet and watched a few videos, but they’d horrified her so much she hadn’t spent much time on them.

Kissing was fine but Evan would expect more. Sweat trickled down her temples. She rose and walked to the bathroom to wash her face.

Being a human, she shouldn’t be afraid of sex. It was a natural process of human reproduction. The act just seemed so bizarre. The animal mating habits were straightforward. Maybe the cats could get a little noisy, but there weren’t all these different techniques and ways to do things to make it more pleasurable. Why should it be pleasurable? It was done to make children.

Herein lay the whole question behind her commission. She’d become the guinea pig. The experiment.

Tears came to her eyes. Did the queen know how much this would hurt? How confused she would feel? Afraid and lost? No fairy would ever understand. Neither would a human. She was totally alone. Gripping her arms around her abdomen, she stared at her reflection in the bathroom mirror. Her hair stood up on one side, flat on the other. Her eyes appeared like two murky pools full of algae and filth. Even her cheeks appeared more hollow than usual. Ugh, she looked awful! Loneliness had never featured in her world. She’d been too busy and there’d always been winged friends around to talk to, to laugh and sing with.

The emotion felt like a cold, heavy blanket resting upon her, seeping its icy tendrils right down to her bones. She went back to bed but couldn’t sleep for hours. Eventually, she fell into a fitful sleep.

A Fairy Tale Romance by Elodie Parkes

Thank you for inviting me to your blog today with my new Evernight Publishing release, ‘A Fairy Tale Romance’

The story is contemporary, fantasy romance. It’s set along the coast in the sumptuous Mediterranean, and bathed in warmth, which I felt was a fitting venue to contrast with the stark misery of my hero’s predicament.

The story is modelled on old fairy story motifs, where there is a fairy godmother style character, a prince and a princess. I so enjoyed writing this story because Thorn Valmont, my hero, is such a lovely, romantic man and deserves to be freed from the curse that befalls him. This is a sizzler of a story with erotic love scenes and threads of fairy tale mystery as we wonder what has happened to Thorn and how he’ll escape his lonely life.

fairytaleromance1l

When delectable Thorn Valmont buys an old palace to renovate on the Mediterranean coast, he never dreams it will cost him his freedom.

Thorn is part of an aristocratic family. He’s a prince and must find his princess to solve a puzzle he inherits from the ancient owners of the Mediterranean palace.

Will he find her in time to stop his loneliness destroying him completely?

Read an excerpt:

The memory of the young woman’s long slim legs and firm thighs filled his head as he walked home. He imagined caressing her. He would trail his fingertips up the back of her thighs to tease inside the cutoff bottoms of her shorts. It was so long since he’d felt the skin of a woman and yet he could almost conjure up that softness at the top of a thigh where it joined the enticing base of her ass. Thorn sighed sadly and shook his head. He had never come to terms with his lack of sex. Sometimes, after a week or so of ignoring his needs he would masturbate before darkness fell. He always felt better afterwards and told himself to do it more often, to give himself that comfort, but often sadness stole away the notion and he’d drift through his existence until he suddenly realized he needed the release of orgasm.

Thorn knew that he needed it now, before darkness fell. He practically sprinted up the zigzag path to his home, resolved to ease the pain of loneliness that the sight of the lovely young woman had deepened. Inside his bedroom, he closed his eyes and found it easy to picture her mouth, the plump bottom lip, the way her hair tendrils had stroked there, and then he unzipped his jeans.

He paused and thrust away the memory of Grace. He needed quick relief.

Thorn brought to mind one of the last real sexual encounters he’d had with a woman. It was a hot memory and one he’d used before. They’d met at a party, instantly attracted in a superficial sexual way, they agreed to a moonlit tryst in the garden of the big house where the party was being held.

He’d stalked to the girl waiting in a small stand of trees, stripped her quickly, and lifted her to slide with her to the grass. His arm around her bare waist, and a hand cupping her pussy, he’d subconsciously stored away the feel of her wet arousal on his palm and could bring that to mind.

He recalled the words she’d said to him then, as he took his cock in his fist and pumped.

She had said, “Fuck me. Fuck me hard. I want everything, your tongue, your fingers, and your cock in me. I want to suck you until you moan and your cum fills my mouth.”

Thorn groaned as his cock hardened and he whispered the words, “Fuck me.” He pictured licking the girl’s pussy, her legs wide apart as she lay in the grass and his stomach clenched. His orgasm teased at him and he leaned on the edge of the chest of drawers bent over with the urgent need to come as he built a rhythm. He focused on the memory of her nipples between his lips, the way she’d sucked his cock, the taste of her cream on his tongue. Thorn pumped hard and his orgasm suddenly burned through him. As the waves of pleasure coursed in his balls and forced the cum to spurt in warm streaks over the back of his hand, he saw Grace as she’d looked at him on the beach. He saw her green eyes and perfect lips. The picture in his mind added sweetness to the orgasm. He shuddered and groaned.

Author interview:

Are you working on another book right now?

I’m working on three books, right now. Two are contemporary erotic romance, and one is romance Sci-Fi.

Naturally, they are all love stories, with HEA. I have to have that in my books.

I’m not writing much though, because of my day job, where I have shifts, and I’m editing for the releases in the latter part of this year.

What do you enjoy most about writing?

My characters and setting becoming so real to me.

What do you like the least?

Marketing. It’s so time consuming and quite soul destroying when you’d rather be writing. (Smiles)

Would you like to see any of your books as movies?

None of them. I’d be there fussing about the script staying true to the book, or the casting. (Laughs).

What things do you like to do to relax?

I find writing relaxing, but I also like to get out into the countryside near where I live. I enjoy visiting the historic places too. I read, watch movies and I love music. I’m often singing along with something as I drive.

Do you have another job as well as writing?

Yes, I have to. I work for an antiques emporium. It’s very tourist driven, so right now I have late night hours and work all weekend and holidays. I do shifts, usually start about midday or two in the afternoon, and work through until ten or eleven. It means I’ve taken a hiatus from writing so my stories mentioned above are waiting for me. I can feel them there wanting to be written.

If you could have one super power in your existence, what would it be?

It would have to be healing.

If money were not an object, where would you most like to live?

I live in the country where I want to, maybe I’d move down the coast to Cornwall or Devon, closer to the ocean, which I love.

What kind of car would you have if money was no object?

I have the car I want. I’m a Jeep person and always drive them.

What’s your favorite color?

I have two I love, oh wait three, blue, purple and green.

Can you think of a song or piece of music that could be your theme tune?

It changes for me every time someone in an interview asks, (laughs) right now it’s The Eagles: Tequila Sunrise. That’s because I usually see the sunrise after arriving home very late at night, editing, networking, or real life stuff, like my laundry, and then I flop to sleep for a few hours. (laughs again) Check out my dark shadows.

Just answer these questions as quickly as possible:

Chocolate or vanilla?

Chocolate

Dog or cat?

Dog and horse

The film or the book?

Both (sorry)

Jeans or skirt?

Jeans but sometimes little black dress

Beach or Snow resort?

Countryside and beach

Heels or flats?

Boots, depends where I’m going if they are heeled or flat

Stockings or pantyhose?

Stockings, love them

Top or bottom?

Er…both if I can get it…

Is there anything you would like to say to your readers?

Thank you for reading my books. I write from the heart so you get a piece of it every time you read one of my stories. (Smiles)

Excerpt:

Chapter One

“Trade places with me.” Sweat poured down Prince Deion’s face. He’d never been more nervous in his life. Or maybe he’d caught a virus before flying to Minjet.

“What do you mean trade places?” Cyrus, his personal aide and friend, grabbed the nylon across his chest. “We’re strapped in because we’re landing soon. I can’t exactly get out of my seat right now.”

“No.” Deion released a heavy breath, wiping his forehead. “That’s not what I mean. I want you to take my place during the ceremony this evening. I don’t think I’m in any condition to meet the princess.”

“You’re kidding. What, are you afraid she’s beastly looking?”

“No!” He cringed. The women he’d met from Minjet had all been stunning diamonds sparkling is a solar system of rust and decay. “I have the stomach flu. Or the worst case of nerves ever. I just need you to sit in my place at dinner tonight.”

“And what do you want me to tell the royal family? That you think you’re sick?”

“Make something up.” Deion swallowed the bile burning his throat. “I feel like shit.”

“It’s fucked up that you’re so sick the day you’re to meet your future wife.”

“Yeah, fucked up is exactly how I’m feeling right now.” If his kingdom wasn’t depending on him to unite their planets and garner help, he would turn around and head home, but the last war on Earth had destroyed almost everything. Those who’d survived had turned to the stars for help, sure other life existed, and they’d found it. A whole lot more than anyone had ever expected. One hundred years later, the year of his birth, Earth was invited to join the Galactic Confederacy. To show Earth’s commitment, Deion’s parents had agreed to a prearranged marriage for him, to a female they’d never met from another star system. Deion and Princess Ro’sa had now reached their twenty-first year, and he’d been sent to meet her and her parents before bringing her home to marry. A lifetime commitment. His dedication to the unknown girl had begun long ago when his father told him of his betrothal, but that didn’t mean he would instantly love the princess. Maybe he never would. What a horrible life that would be.

“Okay then, but I want to wear the crown and robe today. It may be my only chance,” Cyrus said.

“Whatever.” Closing his eyes, Deion concentrated on breathing. In through the nose and out through the mouth. Whatever it took to keep the contents of his stomach from greeting the royal family.

They call him The Beast…

Hunter Monahan uses his scars as a shield to hold people at bay. That way no one can get too close and see the vulnerable man underneath the cold exterior. That is until he wins Emilia in a card game, when her no good for nothing brother puts his sister up for collateral.

Hunter knows that the woman he used to bounce on his knee as a child is far too young and innocent to be tied to a cynical, scarred bear shifter, but he made a promise to her mother to look after her little girl. Besides his bear wants his mate, come what may, and he has a score to settle.

Their contract ensures her submission for the Christmas weekend, but Emilia’s instinctive responses work their own brand of Christmas magic on Hunter.

He never celebrates it, but this festive season all he wants under his tree is Emilia, preferably naked, tied, and entirely at his mercy…

Blurb:

I’m the beast, haven’t you heard….

Christmas is supposed to be a time for miracles and one will surely be needed when Emilia Duncan finds herself sold to the beast to save her father’s company. Having lusted after the much older, enigmatic man for as long as she can remember, spending the Christmas weekend as his submissive will satisfy her raging libido, but can she protect her heart?

Bear Shifter Hunter Monahan cannot stand idly by when Emilia is thrown to the wolves. There is only one shifter who will get his claws into her and that’s him. The contract ensures her submission for the weekend. Too bad his bear wants much more than that.

Hunter is used to hiding behind his gruesome scars, but in the bid for Emilia’s heart, that is not an option this time.  Isolated in his cabin, it’s not just the snow that melts.

Excerpt:

“I said you’re mine, kitten,” he finally said, and Emilia’s heart leapt for joy. “You always will be, but I want to see you happy. You don’t need to be settled with a cynical, scarred bear shifter like me, especially as your father will never talk to you again, if you do.” He put his hand up when she was going to interrupt him, and continued.

“No, let me finish. He is your father, and I know you well enough to know that you love him and that good for nothing brother of yours. Despite what you said to them when you left, you could no more turn your back on them than you could stop breathing, and that’s one of the many things about you that I…”

His bear growled, and Emilia forgot to breathe at the struggle she sensed in him. She scooted closer and put her hand on his tense thigh.

“You what, Sir? Please don’t clam up on me now,” she said.

A grim smile kicked up the corner of his mouth, and she leant in closer to kiss that spot. A growl erupted from his chest, and before Emilia could blink she was on the floor with him towering above her. Right now he didn’t look very much in control of his bear, and that thought sent adrenaline coursing through her body.

Holding himself off of her with his hands placed next to her head, and his arms locked, he ground his groin against hers and the solid heat of his erect cock meant that Emilia’s hormones took over. Moisture flooded her underwear, and her nipples tried to poke through the soft fabric covering them. As comfortable as her jumper was the fabric chafed against the sensitive peaks, and Emilia bit her lip to stop from whimpering her need.

Hunter groaned and bending his head claimed her mouth in an earth shattering kiss that left her breathless and so needy she was going to scream if he didn’t do something other than kiss her.

He pulled away, and the heat in his gaze sent her arousal into fever pitch. Emilia shifted her legs wider, and they both groaned as he settled himself right between her legs.

“Fuck it, Emilia. I can’t do this anymore. I want you too damn much.”

Hunter’s voice came out distorted, and more of his bear showed as his muscles expanded and he grew bigger above her.

“Then have me, all of me, please.” Emilia gasped her reply, all too aware of the barely leashed aggression that poured out of his very pores. It should send her running, yet it had the opposite effect on her. Beads of perspiration slid into her eyes, clouding her vision. Trapped as she was under his bulk, her clothes felt heavy and restrictive, and Hunter seemed to burn hotter still, as he grew perfectly above her. His nostrils flared and he inhaled roughly, as though he, too, had trouble drawing air into his lungs. Emilia blinked to clear her vision, and she couldn’t tear her gaze away from the sight of his fangs. His incisors grew longer, more menacing somehow in the orange glow from the fire, and she didn’t dare breathe when he dipped his head and ran those lethal teeth along her neck.

“This is your last chance to cry red, kitten. This time when I fuck you, I will claim you, body and soul. You will be mine, to carry my mark, so that everyone will know who you belong to. I want to cover you in my cum, bite you all over, and leave my marks on you forever. Do you understand me?”

Emilia nodded, utterly unable to get her voice to work, and Hunter threw his head back and roared. The vibrations of that growl shook the very ground they lay on, and she locked her ankles behind his ass to enable her to grind her hips against the solid bulge in his jeans. So close. God, she was so close already, if only….

Hunter bucked and dislodged her, until she lay winded, face down on the rug. Hunter yanked her jumper up and her leggings down, and the first hard, stinging swat of his hand on her ass took her breath away. Several more followed in quick succession, and then he lifted her on her knees, and pushed her upper body back down into the rug. Her jumper gave way with an audible rip, as he used his claws to get if off her.

“Do. Not. Move.” Every growled word was accentuated by another swat to her ass. Heat spread across her skin, and she jumped when he replaced his hands with his teeth, while pushing several fingers into her wet pussy.

Emilia whimpered and mewled like the kitten he called her, as he fucked her with his fingers, while marking her body with his teeth just like he’d promised, until her skin was just a mass of hot sensation. Up and down her spine into the hollow of her back, over her ass and the insides of her thighs, until she didn’t know which part of her he hadn’t reached.

Pinned in place by his clawed hand on her shoulder, and his fingers buried deep inside her, keeping her teetering on the edge of her release, she had nowhere to go.

Emilia whined when he withdrew his fingers, and Hunter pushed his digits, slicked by her arousal, into her mouth, and smacked her ass again. Emilia bit down, and the taste of her arousal mixed with his blood, and Hunter grunted his approval.

“Fuck, yes. Do that again.”

His claws sliced through her shoulder, while he dug his fingers deeper into her mouth and jaw. The pain just added to her arousal until her whole body felt on fire. Teetering on the edge, she screamed, as he ran his thick cock through her wet slit and then drove in deep.

“I’m going to fuck you so hard, baby. You’re mine.”

Author Bio

Glutton for punishment would be a good description for Doris… at least that’s what she hears on an almost daily basis when people find out that she has a brood of nine children, ranging from adult to toddler and lives happily in a far too small house, cluttered with children, pets, dust bunnies, and one very understanding and supportive husband. Domestic goddess she is not.

There is always something better to do after all, like working on the latest manuscript and trying not to scare the locals even more than usual by talking out loud to the voices in her head. Her characters tend to be pretty insistent to get their stories told, and you will find Doris burning the midnight oil on a regular basis. Only time to get any peace and quiet and besides, sleep is for wimps.

She likes to spin sensual, sassy, and sexy tales involving alpha heroes to die for, and heroines who give as good as they get. From contemporary to paranormal, BDSM to F/F, and Ménage, haunting love stories are guaranteed.

Another fantastic review for The Perfect Shoot!

“I really enjoyed watching Andrea and Yushka fall in love.  Truly I did but there were parts of the book that didn’t set right with me.  Especially the photographer and the photo shoot.  If I had been Andrea I would have bolted but I understood why Ms. Bronsen wrote the scene.  Trust me when you read it, you will understand her side and mine.

What I really enjoyed was Ms. Bronsen’s descriptions of the conference itself.  She wrote it from experience and who wouldn’t want to go to France.  ;)  She nailed the setting, descriptions and the ins and outs of the conference itself.
The side plots with her sons and their father were excellent as well.  Those phone calls explained alot of Andrea’s personality and feelings.  Especially when it came to her hesitation with being with Yushka.  I’d feel the same way.  And my husband is 7 years younger than me.  Trust me…people are shocked when they find that out.
I will say that when those two finally get to together its explosive.  Oh yes, there is the private photo shoot but that’s just a teaser.  I found the book to be spicy, not truly erotic in nature.  There is plenty of teasers before the deed is done but that’s where Ms. Bronsen was brilliant in her writing.  The build up, the emotions between them was well worth the pay off in the end.
Just because I had issues with one thing in the book, don’t put off reading this one.  In the end, Ms. Bronsen will open your eyes to the ultimate fantasy…falling in love with a cover model and he loving you back.  *sigh*”

Welcome to my dear friend Cait Jarrod and her new release Mystic Hearts!

I’m excited to be on your blog!

Nothing like a heroine taking charge!

I love Charlene Smith’s journey from submissiveness to taking charge of her life. She figuratively slams her hands on the table and says, “No more.” She’ll no longer allow her ex-husband to control her like he had while they were married. She’ll no longer allow him to use their son as a pawn. Instead of slamming her hand down on a desk or gingerly saying, “No more,” read the excerpt below from Mystic Hearts, Book 2 of The Band of Friends, to find out how Charlene decides she can and will fight.

The venomous tone, at one time, would have had her withering. But not anymore. “Pig!”

Her ex-husband charged toward her, eyes wild, nostrils flaring.

She swung, faking high and going low. The bat connected with his stomach.

“Fuck,” he puffed and clutched his gut. “You’ll pay.” He straightened and snatched the butcher knife from the block on the kitchen counter.

Crap!

The shiny blade glistened above his head.

It was her or him. She dug deep, seizing strength from all the wrongs Andrew had inflicted on her family, fortifying her with the power for what she needed to do. She raised the bat behind her head and went for the homerun…for her…her mother…and most importantly, her son. She struck his arm. Bones cracked. The knife flew out of his hand. He stumbled backwards, holding his wrist, and fell backwards into the wall. She raised it again, aiming for his head.

The bastard is Henry’s father, her conscience screamed.

At the last second, she pulled back and clobbered him square in the ribs.

Yelping, he collapsed on the floor. “You bitch!”

She lowered her hand, clasping the handle, ready to swing. “Not another word. Get the hell out of my house!”

“I’ll be back!”

She raised the bat. “You asked for it.”

“No!” He held up his good hand and sidestepped.

Okay people, I need help! I’ve decided having a blog simply called “Blog” no longer works for me and I’m looking for a new, cool name.  As a long-time fan of rock band KISS, I want to pick a name from one of their songs or albums – but which one?

Here are a few ideas. Please leave your votes (or your own suggestions) in the comment section below. A lucky winner gets to choose one of my ebooks!

Color of Love Blog Hop

It’s that time of the year where we celebrate our love for characters of color in romantic fiction in the Color of Love Blog Hop.

I personally love everything exotic, from too-hot places in the southern hemisphere to their gold skinned inhabitants with rich, sexy accents and dark, smoldering eyes. Out of my admiration was born a book character – young sex-on-legs Yushka, a popular photo model and ladies’ man from central Asia. He’s getting tired of fleeting relationships when a beautiful, grown woman squeezes into a packed elevator with him at a publishing conference in France. Every hot-blooded cell in him awakes at their sudden intimacy, and in the next days, he’ll seize any opportunity to show his desire for her. But will she return the fervor?

 Stripped Bare

BLURB:

When Donovan Ramsey comes home from yet another business trip he realizes he and his long-term boyfriend, Nate Pearson, have drifted apart. Donovan is used to engineering solutions in his career, but he’s stumped on how to fix his dwindling sexual relationship with Nate.

After a late night internet search, Donovan finds a place that might be exactly what they need to rekindle the romance in their relationship. There’s just one catch: the idyllic Cooper Mountain Bed and Breakfast specializes in BDSM for couples.

Over the course of the weekend, the two men experience a taste of what the BDSM lifestyle has to offer. Will that taste lead to a stronger connection between Nate and Donovan, or will it ultimately be their undoing?

EXCERPT:

Donovan recognized a few of the search results from friends’ suggestions about quick weekend getaways. The majority, though, were ones Donovan had never heard of. “Deluxe cottage, nestled in the woods. Full shower and bath. Total privacy.”

Donovan kept that window open, even though the price was way more than what he would normally pay for a hotel room for the night. The next boasted similar features, except this one had a private outdoor hot tub for the guests’ use. Donovan was about to go back to the first listing until he saw one that looked different from the others.

“Cooper Mountain. A secluded B&B that caters to couples who want to rekindle their relationship. Fully catered meals, private quarters, and attentive staff. LGBTQ Friendly.”

Out of curiosity, he clicked on the link. The first picture that popped up featured a beautiful cottage situated in a rural setting next to a lake. The next picture, however, had his mind reeling. A wooden cross, labeled St. Andrew’s Cross in the caption below, made him wonder if this was a couples’ retreat or a torture palace. The owner’s message at the bottom of the image gallery explained that play was optional, and every stage of kink was welcome. There were educational classes for newbies as well as complete privacy for the more advanced couples.

Testimonial after testimonial made his head swim.

“Toby and Logan are the perfect hosts. Not only did my partner and I rekindle the passion we thought we’d lost, we found out we really love floggers!”

“Thank you, Logan, for the best weekend getaway we’ve had in years. We’ll definitely be back on our next anniversary to try out the spanking bench.”

And the last one, “A weekend at Cooper Mountain worked wonders for expanding our understanding of the D/s relationship. We’ve grown closer as a couple and can’t wait to take more of Logan’s classes!”

Donovan’s mind raced as he clicked through the image gallery, shocked and slightly scandalized by the images he saw. After all, what kind of person got off on pain? What kind of person got pleasure from tying another person up or by dominating someone else sexually?

Fantastic 5-star review for The Perfect Shoot!!

“Set at an author conference in Cannes, this is the story of 38-year-old romance writer Andrea and her cover model, 23-year-old Yushka.

When Andrea sees him fondling the conference organiser she recognises him immediately. He’s the boyishly handsome model on the cover of her latest book. Andrea has spent the last 18 years single-handedly raising her twin boys, so she’s had little time for love.

When a crowded lift and a pushy friend pre-empts the introduction she’d planned for the Meet and Greet session, she feels like a teenager again.

The chemistry sizzles between them from the beginning, but she’s concerned by the age difference, and after waiting 18 years, the last thing she wants is a quickie in  a  hotel restroom.

The more they are thrown together at the conference, the greater the heat between them. As Andrea struggles to reconcile her attraction to a man only 4 years older than her sons, Yushka is determined to prove to her he wants more than just a one night stand.

When a steamy photo shoot turns dangerously realistic, Andrea can no longer fight the sizzling chemistry between them.

Packed with scorching heat and realistic emotional turmoil, this book is a must read with a satisfying happy ending.”

– A big thank you to Sizzling Hot Books!!
