Mattress Music

Is it possible to lose one’s ability to orgasm? Nina has. Lately, her fun weekend hook-ups have been more ho-hum than hot damn! It doesn’t help that she has three flatmates and is forced to play loud music to mask the sounds of her lovemaking. Talk about distracting! Of course, there’s another reason Nina’s less than satisfied these days…she’s just having a hard time admitting it.

It’s a good thing she’s met Ian, then. Not content to be a weekend hook-up, Ian is set on giving Nina what she’s been missing while making her admit what she needs. His talented fingers—and other body parts—are up to the task. But Ian’s not admitting a few things himself. Turns out his fingers can do more than make Nina’s body sing.

When she discovers his secret, it’s time for both of them to face the music.

Mirror Music

As Robbie Harding belts out hit song ‘Jenny’ to a packed Wembley Stadium, my heart tears, my mind spins and my insides heat to a lusty, pulsing boiling point.

Why me more than the other 90,000 screaming fans?

Because I’m Jenny—he’s singing about me.

The guy is sex on legs with a voice to match and has starred in all my hot dreams since the day boys became interesting and for three precious years, it was more than hot dreams. Turns out he wants me back in his life and his bed. How can I resist?

So with lots of naked, sweaty and downright dirty time to make up for, I wield my backstage pass, hunt him down and refuse to be starstruck by the boy next door. Seems Robbie agrees, as he insists on tuning in to my needs and rediscovering our rhythm in a very unusual bedroom.

Menage a Music

filename-utf-8menage-a-music-evernightpublishing-2016-3drender

Most women would think themselves eternally lucky to have a hot, sinfully sexy rock star giving them the serious come-on—so imagine how I felt to find not one but two giving me the eye! Phew! I was turning somersaults.

But of course this led to a massive and, quite honestly, unenviable dilemma. How the heck do you choose between two rock gods who want nothing more than to give you pleasure of the extremely intense variety?

Lucky for me these global superstars were brothers who knew just how to share the same toy—sorry, I mean woman. That left me free to take a break from managing the band and let their experienced, talented hands manage me.

Excerpt:

She nodded and stood. She watched him as he watched her, taking her time. “Do I call you ‘Sir’?” She whispered the question. “I saw that in a movie. The Dominant ensured his submissive’s pleasure, and she called him ‘Sir.’ Is that right?”

“Only if you are comfortable with it. You can use my name, or that ridiculous nickname you’ve come up with, if you think it would be easier. I am not your Master and never will be. While I will be your Dominant, and you my submissive, this is always going to be an open relationship where we make our own rules. So go with whatever works for you, little warrior.”

She went to her knees, her hands behind her back and knees braced apart. Her head down and tilted to the side, she shuddered in need. “I think that I’m going to love you, DC. For the rest of your life.”

“Seeing you like this makes me wonder what sort of movies you’ve been watching,” he commented. She saw his feet move and in the next moment his fingers under her chin brought her face up. Leaning forward, with his elbows on his knees, Demaratus regarded her with what she could only assume was curiosity. “What else have you learned?”

“I’ve watched bondage movies, spankings, blindfolds, all of them with the woman submissive to the man. I like that. I think that I’ve learned how to give a blow job, but I don’t know, since I’ve never— Shit, there I go again.” Blurting out everything in my mind. Bloody brilliant.

“Sucking a man’s cock is something not every woman likes. Some love it, some do it out of a mistaken sense of duty, and others hate it but do it because they believe it is the only way that they might get fucked themselves. That’s not what we’re about. If we try something and you realize your expectations outshone the actual attempt, then we will never do it again. Now, what would you like to try first, little warrior?”

“I would really like to try the blow job, please? Sir.” She had never wanted to do anything so much in all of her life like she wanted to take him into her mouth.

Rubbing his thumb lightly over her chin, he nodded, then leaned back. Demaratus slouched slightly and studied her. Reaching down, he undid his belt and the buttons holding his fly closed. He lifted his hips a bit to push off his pants.

She smiled. “Do you know just how much I love the way you look at me like that? How do I do this?” She asked the question even as she licked her lips. “I don’t want to hurt you, but goodness, my mouth is watering.”

About The Author

Having been a lover of the written word all her life April has always wanted to expand her horizons and write something that could be shared with the world. Only one thing held April back, the fact that the letters and numbers mixed and jumbled more often than not. Diagnosed with Dyslexia when she was eight years old April had to work her butt off just to be able to keep up with the other kids in reading and writing, so her love for fictional writing was tossed to the wayside for the moment.

Time marched on, as it always does, and she forgot her childhood dream of becoming an author and instead focused on what she had to – creating a career for herself.

As the endless waves of time passed the shores became less rocky and more sandy, a place where she could find an even foot. That and Microsoft invented Word. Hallelujah.

This is where April began her journey into the written world, the world that her imagination had been ceaselessly creating for her entire adult life.

Now she has been given a chance to let her literary wings unfold and fly, thanks to the amazing publishers with Evernight Publishing and Secret Cravings Publishing.

Now its time to let the dream take flight and watch it soar!

Tenderly Wicked by Katerina Ross

Congratulations to Katerina Ross on your new release!

Tenderly-wicked-evernightPublishing-2016-finalimage.jpg

Max has always been interested in the wicked ways of BDSM, but his unusual tastes haven’t always been well received. But now he has Vadim, an eager Russian sub willing to fulfill his most daring fantasies. There’s one problem—Max isn’t quite ready to accept what’s right in front of him. His deep-seated insecurities threaten to spoil what’s growing into more than just a kinky pastime. Will Max embrace Vadim’s love or throw away his chance at true happiness?

Excerpt

When they were deep into the park, Max stopped and brought Vadim to a halt, too. “See those bushes?” He pointed at hazel shrubs on the hill slope above the path. “Go there and fetch me a branch. A supple one. And remove the leaves and small twigs. The smoother it can be, the better. Better for you, this is.”

Vadim shot an apprehensive glance at him.

“Yeah, I suppose you guessed it right,” Max confirmed. “I did say we had to work on your punctuality. I tend to keep my promises. Luckily, the necessary implements are available on every tree. Convenient, isn’t it?”

For a moment, he felt a twinge of uncertainty, despite an attempt at a joke. Was he pushing too far? But it was only a moment, and then Vadim marched to the bushes without a word of protest. Max let out a breath he didn’t realize he was holding.

When Vadim presented him with his trophy, Max inspected it thoroughly and even tapped at his palm with the rod. “Acceptable,” he said. It was quite resilient. “Now come here.” With a switch in his hand, like a shepherd, he guided Vadim to a thicket of bushes and onto a small grassy clearing among them. It was the closest thing to a secluded grove they were going to get. “Bend over there.” Max pointed at the nearest tree with the tip of his switch. “Lower your pants.”

It was unlikely someone would see them from the path, but still, Max stood so that he was able to monitor this direction in case some picnic enthusiasts came looking for a hidden clearing, too. He was now at Vadim’s left side, enjoying the view of his well-shaped buttocks, so obscenely white before the first touch of the switch.

“Do you remember the number of minutes you were late?”

Vadim shook his head, silently, his palms flat against the rough bark of the tree, his pants and underwear down around his ankles.

“Too bad. Fortunately, I remember it all too well. Twelve minutes. Guess how many swats you get for this.”

The first stroke was gentle, barely more than a tap. Max tested his aim and the force of impact. At the second one, maybe too intense, Vadim let out a hiss. Max stepped closer and gently rubbed the pink welt that appeared on the pale skin. “Don’t clench. Don’t fight it. It’s for your sake after all. It’s for you to remember that you should plan your life more efficiently. You better count, out loud. Show me you embrace the lesson. Okay?”

Vadim nodded, silent again.

Max applied the strokes slowly, with intervals, waiting for Vadim to count them and not applying the full strength this time. He used his arm only from the elbow down and was careful to watch that the light, flexible end of the switch wouldn’t bite into the outer flank too harshly. When six slim, even lines had appeared across Vadim’s buttocks, Max decided to pay attention to the back of his thighs as well. They seemed to be even more sensitive. Vadim almost jumped every time the switch landed across the delicate skin, and yet he was pressing back to meet each slap. After ten blows, he suddenly reached around and pulled his butt cheeks apart so Max could add two more onto his twitching hole, which Max did, surprised and aroused by this uncalled-for act of submission.

After that, with the switch still in his right hand, Max stroked its length across the tender insides of Vadim’s still spread buttocks—a feather-like touch that made Vadim suck a sharp breath in, much to Max’s delight. So responsive. So obedient. Mine. The proprietary feeling that welled up from deep within him was intoxicating.

Mr. Red by Amber Morgan

Congratulations to Amber Morgan on your new release!

Hello! Thank you for having me today and allowing me to introduce Mr. Red to you all 🙂

You know, I’m sure I say the same thing about every book – that I had loads of fun writing it – but I really did have loads of fun writing this story. I started it because I needed a distraction from another project that wasn’t going very well, and before I knew it, Mr. Red and Ally had taken over my life. The story just came pouring out, and ended up being double the length I anticipated. I really just didn’t want to stop writing! Hopefully the fun I had is reflected in the story. Enjoy!

Mr-red-evernightpublishing-Swpt2016-finalimage.jpg

When Ally Mosconi’s father trades her in to his mysterious Mafia boss to pay a debt, Ally knows her life has changed forever. The man she calls Mr. Red is domineering, demanding, and utterly ruthless. She knows she needs to break free – but with her father’s life in the balance, what can she do to challenge Mr. Red’s control? And as she falls deeper under his spell, she begins to question exactly how much she wants to escape.

Excerpt

“Sing me something,” he said. Ordered, really.

Ally floundered, caught off-guard. “Now? No. I can’t. I haven’t…”

“I don’t expect a flawless performance. I just want to hear you sing.” A hint of impatience entered his voice. “In case you had forgotten, we are negotiating. Consider this the first step.” He clicked his fingers at her, the way customers did in the restaurant. It was rude and domineering, and it always made her mad.

And just like she did when it happened at work, Ally fought the anger. As a waitress, she couldn’t lose her temper with the customers no matter how rude they were. As Mr Red’s prisoner, she had to be even more careful, and she already knew he disliked her talking back. While she might forget that when there seemed to be nothing at stake, if he was being honest with her now, there might be something to gain by co-operating. So she swallowed her annoyance with a huge effort.

She stood, nerves jangling. Jesus, what he if thought she was shit? What if she was shit? She hadn’t sang outside of the shower for a long time. She pressed her hand to her stomach, trying to settle the butterflies, and then she closed her eyes and started singing.

She wasn’t sure what was going to come out of her mouth until she started, and she was morbidly amused to realize she was singing Wait from Sweenie Todd. She was pretty sure Mr Red had been expecting something more classical, more…operatic, but she didn’t dare open her eyes to gauge his reaction. She’d sung the song dozens of times, having played Mrs Lovett in a high school production, and she was confident her voice wasn’t going to crack on any difficult notes.

She was on the first chorus when she heard his chair scrape back as if he was rising from the table. Inexplicably panicked, she flubbed a line and opened her eyes to see him stalking towards her.

“Don’t stop,” he said.

The sight of him approaching, full of quiet menace, was too much for her shaking nerves. She closed her eyes again and carried on. She sensed him move behind her, caught a whiff of his seductive cologne, and her voice faltered again. When he rested his hands on her hips, she had to stop. He was too close, too overwhelming.

“Don’t stop,” he said again, voice hard.

“I can’t concentrate when you touch me,” she said, then bit her lip, realizing too late how it sounded.

He laughed, low and dirty, and slid his hands up her sides to skim just under her breasts. “You have a good voice. I know an excellent vocal coach.”

She tried not to think about the warmth of his hands, the pressure of his fingers. Her back was to his chest, and she felt trapped…but not unpleasantly so. She tried not to think about that either. “There’s no point. The best vocal coach in the world can’t give me a relevant musical degree or the years of experience I’ve missed.”

“Hmm.” He ran his fingertips up over her breasts, the light touch drawing a hiss from her. He toyed with the top button of the dress, popping it open. “Wouldn’t it be worth doing just for the pleasure of it?” he asked.

Heat pooled in her belly, and she had to parse his words twice to be sure it wasn’t some innuendo. “I…suppose.”

“After all, it would be a trip out of the apartment a couple of times a week,” he continued. “With a bodyguard, of course.”

Galvanized by those words, Ally pulled free and whipped round to face him. “What?” Hope and suspicion warred in her. “You’d let me go out? For singing lessons?” Where was the catch?

“Maybe,” Mr Red said. His gaze was focused on her chest, on the small glimpse of cleavage showing where he’d unbuttoned the dress. “If you gave me something in return.” He opened the next button.

Hawk v Falcon: Surprise at the Candy Apple by Elodie Parkes

Congratulations to Elodie Parkes on your new release!

Thank you for hosting new release MM romance,

Hawk v Falcon: Surprise at the Candy Apple

HawkvFalconCCT.jpg

When Chris Falconer receives an email from his lost high school friend, Justin, ten years after he last saw him, Chris is overjoyed. The two boys had shared kisses and sworn love for each other, but before their love could be tested, Justin’s mother abruptly took Justin out of school, and they disappeared.

Multi-talented and handsome Chris is a cage fighter at Jack’s Clubhouse, and works in the Candy Apple club. He writes a column for a fitness blog and keeps himself busy, but deep down he’s never forgotten Justin—turns out Justin has never forgotten Chris either.

On a modeling assignment in New York, Justin sees Chris in a café and can’t help contacting him, but his ex, Todd, who doesn’t want Justin but doesn’t want Chris to have him either, has plans to throw their reunion into disarray.

So begins a love story full of emotion. Will Todd succeed? Or this time, will Justin and Chris have the happy ending and delicious love they deserve?

In the second MM romance from the Candy Apple series, I picked up on the character Hawk, the Dungeon Master in the Candy Apple. Chris Falconer is Hawk to the dungeon surveillance staff, but to others he’s a lonely man who often thinks about his past with regret. To the audience at Jack’s Clubhouse, where Chris cage fights and provides display fight bouts, he’s a thrilling sight.

Chris is:

 • six foot, two
 • has dark glossy hair
 • has deep blue eyes
 • is kind and gentle
 • writes a blog for fitness and fight fans
 • loves sex and giving his partner pleasure
 • is muscled and handsome
 • when he’s not fighting, favors black suits, or a leather jacket
 • is intelligent, multi-talented, calm and sophisticated

Justin is:

 • a fashion model
 • six foot two
 • has dark hair
 • has clear blue/gray eyes
 • is lonely and had a stressful upbringing
 • has never forgotten Chris
 • needs love
 • has lived in Denmark for many years
 • is hesitant and yet as soon as Chris begins to take care of him, he blossoms

Their story is sexy, romantic, sad, and happy. No one is more surprised than Chris when he is contacted by long lost love Justin and he will do anything to give Justin the love he needs.

Read an excerpt:

Justin walked a pace behind Chris. It was such a relief to be near Chris, Justin’s fatigue threatened to overwhelm him. Every muscle in his body felt heavy. His gaze traced the broad shoulders and muscled thighs of the man in front. Chris’s hair was well cut and his suit obviously expensive. Chris was even taller than he’d been when Justin last saw him in person, but then so was he. Justin smiled as a wave of tenderness crept over him followed by a sharp need to feel Chris’s lips on his. He still loved Chris. He’d expected to find it was all in his head, that the love was confined to memories, and real life would show him he was mistaken, that love couldn’t last this long.

They were in a corridor when Chris turned to him. “I’ve thought about you so much, I’m a bit ashamed of myself for clinging to your memory, when you never called, when you just disappeared.”

Justin’s heart fell. Was Chris about to reject him now they were away from the bar, the friendly barkeep, and bright white glow of the downlights there? “I’m sorry…”

“No. I meant … I mean I still care for you. I couldn’t ever shake it. I never got over you and it’s been … it’s been so long—you know I sometimes felt weak for not letting go.”

Justin gazed at Chris’s handsome face. “I thought about you.” He slid his hand along Chris’s jaw. “I want to kiss you, so much.”

Chris closed the small gap between their bodies as he grabbed Justin’s head and brought his mouth down on Justin’s. Justin’s breath left him in a soft murmur. His eyes closed in pleasure. He clung to Chris, desperation to stay with Chris, never to go home, gripping him. All he could think of was starting again with Chris, of the delicious drifting sensation that overcame him as Chris pressed close. He kissed Chris over and over until he couldn’t breathe, and Chris held his face away a little whispering words he’d longed to hear against his mouth and dotting tiny kisses there between the phrases.

“Justin, stay here, in the club. I can’t let you go, but I can’t leave work. I still love you. I want to know where you’ve been all these years. Where do you live? You must be a club member. I’ve not seen you here before. Can you stay until we close? It will be late, but then we can talk—we can be together.”

Justin closed his eyes and leaned his head on Chris’s shoulder. “Yes.”

Chris folded Justin in his arms.

Justin stayed within the comfort of the embrace until he knew he had to let Chris get back to work. He raised his head and stepped away.

“I should let you work. I’ll hang out at the bar.”

Chris gazed into his eyes. “Thank you.” He kissed Justin gently. “Hell, you’ll never know how good it feels to kiss you again.

Idolize (Dark Storm #1) by Maggie Mundy

Congratulations to Maggie Mundy on your new release!

Idolize is book one in the The Dark Storm series. The books are based around the lives of actors on the show.

Idolize-evernightpublishing-JayAheer2016-finalimage (2).jpg

Cassi moved to LA to escape a violent past and wants anonymity for herself and her son. She is starting to get her life back on track when she meets Declan Reed. He is latest hit on the Hollywood scene, playing the lead in the TV series Dark Storm. She gets the love of a TV star and the fame that comes with it causes her past to come back and haunt her with what could be fatal consequences.

Excerpt

Cassi knew it was the brandy talking, but when would she have a Hollywood actor captive in a cabin again? He put his glass down and raised one eyebrow as he peered at her. Then he patted the couch in front of him. Okay, she had drunk two big brandies, but what was he suggesting here?

He placed a finger under her chin and lifted it so she gazed in his eyes. She gulped. He didn’t need to say anything. She would kiss him anyway. All he needed to do was ask.

“When you left that day, you took part of me with you. I’ve been looking around and meeting other people and other women trying to find it. I was a fool to let you go then. Now you’re here, Cassi, I’m not going to let you go without telling you how much I care.”

His face was close as his palm cupped her cheek. Her mouth hung open and she felt a strong ache between her legs showing the need for physical contact she had not received for so long. She could feel his breath on her lips. His eyes connected with hers and then moved down to her lips. He ran his thumb along her lower lip and she moved forward. She knew this wasn’t real and something he had rehearsed, but didn’t care. He only had to say the word and she would have sex with him all night long. He didn’t say anything more, but their lips almost touched. Then he moved away.

Breathe.

“It’s a scene from our next episode. It doesn’t turn out well as she’s a vampire and sells me out. I get back at her through some crazy ritual, though. Sorry I took the advantage by adding your name.”

Declan was still holding his palm against her cheek and she didn’t want him to move away.

“You’re good.” He was more than good as she was putty in his hands right now.

Bio

I live in Adelaide, Australia with my husband, one cat, two dogs and a snake. I have a motorbike that I would like to ride more than I do and I love walking at the beach and listening to the waves. I’ve always loved reading all forms of fiction from high fantasy and paranormal to contemporary and decided the stories in my head needed to be written down. It was either that or start on medication. Unlike many, I didn’t know I wanted to be a writer until a few years back. I started off doing a degree in drama but soon realized my love was in writing, though there is a play lurking somewhere on my computer. My day job is as a nurse in the operating room. I believe romance can be fun to read and write but it’s exciting to spice it up with the uncertainty that comes with suspense where the rules can be broken.

Excerpt:

Concentrating on his dinner companions had been a test of his self-control and his self-congratulation at keeping his cool dissolved the moment he watched her slip from the room. Need had gnawed at his gut until Serena and Kaleb had excused themselves and he’d found himself on the patio. The threat of Rekkus pounding his head into a solid surface could not keep him away from this particular human.

Sitting close to her was an act of supreme masochism. The urge to gather her into his arms and carry her to his room crashed against his control as inexorably as the roll of the waves into the rocks below.

Ripe. Ready. Mine for the taking.

He shuddered, grabbing the wicker frame above him in such a hard grip the wood groaned beneath his hands. She was a contradiction; a puzzle. Her shy demeanor and hesitant questions at odds with her throaty plea from their earlier encounter.

Touch me…

Lord and Lady, now she talked about the hot springs. Images of her sliding into a steaming pool, pale skin shining in the moonlight, flooded his brain and he moaned aloud.

“Are you alright?” Her breathy voice sounded too close for comfort and he peered beneath his raised biceps to see her perched on the edge of her seat, leaning toward him. The angle provided a revealing glimpse of the tops of her lush breasts and the wood beneath his hands cracked.

“Who’s Marshall?” Husband? Lover? Tell me you are involved, and I’ll find some way to leave you alone.

She sucked in a shaky breath, fingers balling around the handkerchief clutched in her hands. Her expression clouded for a few long moments before clearing and he watched in fascination as she smoothed the material over her knees and folded it into a neat square. Shoulders braced, she stared him straight in the eye. “Marshall is the past.”

The demon screamed in exultation and Sam cursed himself for asking the question. “Go to bed, little mouse.” He growled.

Confusion furrowed her brow. “Excuse me?”

“You need to go away and leave me alone.”

ETHAN’S HIT A ROUGH SPOT

So I caught my dad in bed with my ex-girlfriend.

My best friend cancelled our plans to celebrate my birthday.

Decided to drink away the betrayal.

Made out with a cardboard cutout of a celebrity in front of my new roommates.

Got in a bar fight.

Hooked up with that pretty bartender whose sad smile I’ve secretly been painting pictures of since forever, but she shoved me out the door without a word.

Did I mention the tattoo I don’t exactly remember getting?

And that’s only Saturday.

Now I need to pick up the pieces of my messed-up life.

LEEANNE’S HAD A TOUGH LIFE

What do you do when you’ve lived in the same small town your whole life and you feel as if you’ll always be stuck in the same rut, like a piece of busted wagon wheel? Well, maybe you start by hooking up with the first decent guy who walks into your bar.

Maybe once you do, it’s hard to get him out of your head even though you try. And maybe, just maybe, you find out he makes you laugh even more than he makes you want to shout his name.

If you’re me, you don’t even know what to do with a guy like him. A little piece of happiness…that feels downright dangerous.

Excerpt

(Ethan’s POV):

So, whatcha thinking? Time to go?” He rises up on his knees. The way he’s poised, he could either move away or get closer just as easily.

“Oh, I don’t know. I’m not dizzy yet.” Not that I honestly want to get dizzy, but we’ve gotten a little too serious. After Ethan brought me here to have fun, I want to lighten the mood.

With his hands deep in the pockets of his leather jacket, Ethan leans in toward me again. “I thought you didn’t want me to make you dizzy.”

I didn’t think so. Yet here we are, hot breath puffing in the cold air between us. My lips tingle as he leans close. It’s impossible to forget the way his hands explored me so carefully before. The way his tongue tasted me like he wanted to keep on tasting me forever.

“You remember that first time you kissed me?”

His cheeks turn a deep merlot. “Damn right I do. I remember thinking it was the best kiss I’d ever had.”

Well now. I’m pretty sure if I wasn’t sitting on something cold and metal, I’d have just melted right into the playground gravel.

“It was the first time I’d kissed someone because I wanted to, and not because I thought I should.” My chest feels strange when I confess this to him. Like it’s full of butterflies or bees. Lighter but nervous. And oh God, my heart is just bouncing every which way.

As his hair brushes my forehead, his dimple deepens and his eyes get darker. “I’m glad you wanted to kiss me, LeeAnne. I’ve been dying to do it again.”

Maybe…maybe I don’t have to lean on him. Maybe I could just lean in again. Meet those wind-chapped lips halfway. That’d be okay, right?

I wrap my arms around my knees and smile. “I think I’ve decided I wouldn’t mind getting a little dizzy.”

His lips brush mine so fast, I’m left breathless when he jumps from the merry-go-round to give it a spin.

“Hang on tight,” he says.

So I do.

SAM
That long blonde hair, sexy hippy-style and a laugh that makes me want to fall to my knees and worship her body– Katy Williams is slowly driving me crazy. I moved out to the woods to get away from everything, including women with ulterior motives. But now she’s living next door to me, inviting me for dinner and giving me blueberry muffins. And she’s all I can think about. But can I trust that behind that smile there isn’t a woman just waiting to get her claws into me? After all, I’ve been fooled once….

KATY
I’m done with men. Well, at least done with men who happily take my money and my heart and suck me dry. Sam Hess, with his man-bun and wild woodsman look, is a whole other matter. I can’t stay away from him, no matter how much I try and when he needs me, there’s no way I won’t stand by his side. But what happens when he doesn’t need me anymore? I don’t think I can survive having my heart broken again. And they always stop needing you, don’t they?

Excerpt

Handing her the drink, I sat down next to her and threw back the vodka in one go. She did the same and put her drink on the wooden coffee table. Leaning back, she exhaled slowly.
“That’s better.”
I should have gotten up then. But I didn’t want to. I wanted to make sure she was all right. I wanted to sit here next to her, feel the heat from her thigh so close to mine. If I moved just an inch, I’d be touching her. I wanted to undo her braids and see how that light hair fell around her breasts. I wanted her to say my name again, like she had before.
I pictured her all breathless and panting. But this time it wouldn’t be from fear. It would be from heat. My fingers twitched with the urge to plunge them into that hair and make her beg for my mouth.
I startled as I felt her sit up and lean close to me as she ran her fingers through my hair.
“I thought it would be longer.”
I’d taken my hair out of the bun when I got home. And thank fuck I had because now she was touching me. The woman was touching me and I couldn’t take it. Turning to face her, I wrapped a hand around the back of her neck to hold her in place and pressed my mouth against hers.
The softness of her lips with a hint of strawberries that didn’t seem like strawberries at all and more like sex and something else hit me. The desire to find out what else she tasted like elsewhere fueled my lust and channeled straight to my cock. Without giving her a chance to even respond, I licked her lips and delved in as she opened her mouth, just a small gap, but enough for me to slip my tongue into. And we groaned in unison.
Leaning against her more, I lowered her to the couch. Propped on one elbow, I grabbed her breast with my free hand. Warm and heavy against my palm, the hint of soft flesh I could suck and nibble spurred me on. Her nipple hardened and she let out a gasp when I released her mouth.
But only for a second.
I couldn’t stop.
The taste of her, the wet heat of her tongue against mine, drove me crazy. As cliché as it felt to admit, even to myself, Katy was provoking a need in a me I’d never felt with any other woman.
I was never going to stop.
One of her hands remained grabbing my hair. She rested the other on my shoulder. I shifted our bodies and pushed between her thighs, grinding against her core. Her body. Her heat. Soft noises escaped her mouth as I touched her.
It all felt so damn good.
I moved my mouth to the side of her neck, inhaling the scent of her skin, the vanilla shampoo she used tickling my nose. I was about to move lower when she whispered my name.
“Sam.”
It was barely a whisper, a breath, a hint of my name. But it was there. And I couldn’t ignore it.
I sat up and looked at what I’d done to her.
Jesus, I’d mauled her.
Her mouth was swollen and red from my rough kiss, her shirt disheveled where I’d manhandled her tit. Her thighs were spread, evidence of the dry-humping I’d fully intended to turn legitimate had she not said my name. I wanted her to look like a woman who needed me, full of a burning lust she needed me to fuck out of her.
Instead, she looked traumatized.
“Lock your door when I leave.” I stood and turned and stomped out, slamming the door behind me.

Prude by Jordan S. Gray

Congratulations to Jordan S. Gray on your new release!

Rebecca Washington is a girl in control. Well, at least when it comes to acing her college classes. The rest of the time, she seems to be at the mercy of everyone else. Like when she’s dumped in front of her peers, hit on right afterwards by a jerk for some stupid bet, and then paired up with the jerk for a lit project.

In order to maintain her perfect GPA, Rebecca will need to give a stellar presentation while ignoring the prying eyes that will be staring at her. When her partner, Derek, starts to ease her fears of public speaking with his laidback attitude, she’s forced to confront her new feelings about him and his charming smile. Rebecca knows falling for a guy who teases her for being a prudish nerd can only end badly, but what if it’s just another thing out of her control?

Excerpt:

Derek grinned. “What do you think about your ex’s girlfriend?”

“Obviously that she’s annoyingly beautiful and, apparently, fun.” The word left a bad taste in her mouth.

“I could say the same about you right now.”

Rebecca felt her face redden even more. She pushed her bangs behind her ear, trying to find something else to stare at other than Derek’s mischievous eyes. Nothing seemed worthy.

“I know we’ve been doing well with the whole friends’ thing,” Derek started.

Rebecca cocked an eyebrow. “What now? Are you going to make fun of me?”

“I wouldn’t dream of it,” he said. “I was just wondering if, as a friend, I’m allowed to ask you to dance.”

She let out a choking laugh. “Here? We’re at a party.”

He gestured to the several groups of people who were dancing. “People dance at parties.”

“I don’t think we should.”

“Because you don’t want to, or because you don’t want to draw attention to yourself?”

“Maybe the latter,” Rebecca mumbled to the ground.

Derek took her hand, pulling her to the center of the living room. At first, their position terrified Rebecca, until she realized it was the most popular dancing spot. In the crowd, she felt shielded from prying eyes, like it was just the two of them.

There’d been times, when Rebecca was home alone and listening to music, where she’d danced. But she had never done so in a public setting or with someone else, and in heels too. She bit her lip nervously as Derek guided her hands around his neck.

“Relax,” he muttered. “It’s just a dance.”

His statement didn’t reassure her at all. Her heart beat faster as she realized that she could feel every inch of him. They were so close. Her head was practically resting on his shoulder, and her body was pressed firmly against his.

The feel of his hands on her waist made her shiver, her crop top inching up slightly as they began to move. Rebecca tried to focus on the beat, but it was really no use. Her fingers clasped together as she mentally reminded herself that playing with Derek’s hair was not a friendly thing to do—even if it looked really soft.

They swayed together, his hands staying rigidly in place. Rebecca wondered what he was thinking about and why he’d decided to dance with her, but it was no use. Derek was likely someone she’d never fully understand.

The song switched to something with a faster pace and erratic rhythm, but Rebecca hardly noticed. Derek moved a hand away from her hip, leaving Rebecca feeling a little colder, until he used it to brush a piece of her fallen bangs behind her ear.

She had no idea how her legs and hips were still moving because, on the inside, Rebecca was totally, completely still. Her eyes fluttered closed as she felt his breath on her neck. Every single one of her nerves were on fire, zapping around in her body like lightening. Rebecca had never felt more alive … or scared.

One of her hands drifted down to Derek’s chest, and she pressed against it. She hoped that he’d know she was trying to get away, but he only pulled her closer to him. Rebecca let out a gasp, clutching his neck and shoulder tightly.

“Are you having fun?” he asked softly.

Rebecca nodded once, unable to muster up anything coherent. Her brain was shutting down, and she wished it was from embarrassment or anger. No, this was something entirely different. So often Rebecca felt like two-halves of her were always in disagreement, but now, every part of her felt the same. She didn’t want him to let go.

Ex-con Carolyn Lucchesi receives a shock nastier than another prison sentence when she discovers she inadvertently lied to the police. Uncle Tony had sworn to her the man in the photo taken from the video footage of a robbery at an art museum was none other than infamous ex-con and jewel thief Jagger Tyrell. But when Jagger confronts her in the park, he tells a different story. One that, if true, means her uncle lied to her and set her up for a parole violation.

Jagger has spent nine years avoiding his former associates, and anything to do with prison or the police. When Carolyn’s lie thrusts him back into the spotlight, he uses everything at his disposal, including Carolyn’s body, to find out who is trying to frame him for a crime he did not commit, and why. But falling in love with Carolyn is not in the plans…

EXCERPT

They stared into each other’s eyes before he kissed her again, probing her lips with his tongue until she parted them. She moaned softly into his open mouth, but when her hands pushed against his chest, she broke the kiss again and shoved him away from her.

“Carolyn, what the hell?”

“Oh, right. Just because you kiss me, I’m supposed to fuck you?”

“You’re so full of shit. You want this as much as I do.” Jagger grasped her hair again and kissed her once more, sliding his tongue in and out. Her moans intensified, spurring him on.

Kissing her was everything he’d imagined it would be, plus more. She tasted like wine and the avocado dressing from the Grand Lux Café, which was just fine with him. His dick was so fucking hard now it was painful. He ground it against her abdomen, but her damn hands came up again, pushing him away one more time.

“Oh, this is bullshit.” He forced her head up again. “Look me right in the eyes and tell me you don’t want to fuck me.”

“We can’t do this.”

“Carolyn, do you want to do it? Yes or no?”

“We can’t!”

“Why the hell not? We’re adults. We can do whatever the fuck we want.”

“It will complicate everything.”

Even though he agreed with her, they’d gone too far to stop now. Jagger stroked her hair, gazing into her eyes. The lust in them was unmistakable. “How long were you standing there watching me?”

A small sound, almost like a plea, came out.

“You watched the whole thing, didn’t you?”

“Yes,” she whispered.

Tiny whimpers escaped her throat as Jagger brushed his finger along her collarbone. The sound sent shivers down his spine. When he ran his thumb across her left nipple, she cried out softly.

“Please … please don’t.”

“You don’t like it?”

“No. I mean I do like it, but this is wrong.”

Even through the tank top, he could see how swollen her breasts were. He was dying here. Jagger flicked the other nipple. He had to see them and taste them. “Why is it wrong?”

“Because … because of who we are.”

“We’re just people. A man and a woman who are hot for each other. Tell me you don’t find me as attractive as I find you.”

“You’re gorgeous. And sexy. Not the point.” Her voice betrayed the fact that her willpower was caving fast.

“It is exactly the point. You’re fucking beautiful, and I want to fuck you. You want to fuck me. We might as well have some fun while we figure this out.”

When he brushed both hands between her legs, Jagger grinned as he realized how soaking wet her pussy was. “I knew it. Can’t fake that, Carolyn. You do want me.”

Her eyelids fluttered as he rubbed her clit. She sighed. “Oh … please…”

“Please what?” Jagger nuzzled her neck. “Tell me what you want me to do.” He pushed harder on her clit.

“Oh fuck…”

“You’re close, aren’t you? I can smell it on you.”

“Yes.”

When Jagger took his hands away, her eyes flew open. “Why did you stop?”

He cupped her face. “Tell me you’ll let me fuck you, anyway I want to, as long as I want to, and in every room of this apartment if that’s what I want, and I’ll let you come.”

Out Now – The Persecution of the Wolves by Lucy Felthouse (@cw1985) #PNR #thriller #shifter

Congratulations to Lucy Felthouse on your new release!

the-persecustiob-of-wolves-evernightpublishing-2016-smallpreview-copy

Werewolf brothers Matthew and Isaac have lived in the peaceful village of Eyam, Derbyshire all their lives. The villagers know what happens every full moon, and have their reasons for keeping quiet. But this secrecy comes at a cost—the brothers can’t risk romantic entanglements.

Then, at the full moon, a sheep is slaughtered on Eyam Moor, by what could only be a large animal. Even the brothers’ staunchest supporters begin to have their doubts about who—or what—could have done it.

As the brothers fight to clear their names, things are complicated by unexpected opportunities to indulge their lust. Isaac is intrigued by a handsome newcomer to the village, and a vivacious visitor is happy to offer Matthew her all.

Can the men prove their innocence, or is their centuries-old secret about to be revealed to the outside world, bringing their carefully-crafted existence crashing down around their ears?

PLEASE NOTE: This book was previously published as Pack of Lies—the content has not changed. The novel also contains both M/F and M/M scenes.

Excerpt:

As Matthew and Isaac Adams opened the front door to their house, the telephone started ringing. Matthew sighed. “Typical. No rest for the wicked. I’ll answer it, you go and get ready for work.”

Isaac nodded and headed off to do as his brother advised. Matthew, the older of the two, walked toward the ringing phone and snatched it off the hook. Then, remembering that the person on the other end of the line would have no idea what a rough night he’d just had, he made the effort to inject some politeness into his tone.

“Hello? Adams residence.” Isaac had told him time and time again that the last part about the residence was old-fashioned, that people didn’t say that anymore, but Matthew couldn’t seem to shake it.

“Hello, Matthew? It’s Richard.” The village vicar’s voice, even though he’d only spoken four words, sounded strained, almost panicked. “You boys just get back?”

“Yeah, a moment ago. Why, what’s up?”

“I, uh… I got a call. A dead sheep has been found up on the moor. Not just dead. Mutilated. Like a wild animal attack.”

An unpleasant feeling wormed its way under Matthew’s skin and his stomach flipped. “Oh?” He paused, then figured he had nothing to gain by not saying the next words he wanted to. “You don’t think it was us?”

The vicar’s gasp was instant, one of genuine surprise. “Lord, no! Absolutely not. I just phoned to let you know and I was wondering if you’d come up there with me and take a look? You and Isaac are probably more qualified than anyone else in the village to tell what did this.”

“Isaac has to work, he just went to get ready. But yes, I’ll come up. I’ll let my brother know where I’m going, then I’ll be straight over. Are you at the rectory?”

“Yes. Okay, I’ll see you soon. Thanks, Matthew. Bye.”

“Goodbye.”

Matthew hung up the phone with another sigh. The horrible feeling that had crept under his skin and taken over his gut seemed as if it was there to stay, and it was never a good sign. The vicar’s news was surprising, yes, but he also had an inkling that it was going to spell trouble, or at the very least, inconvenience for him and his brother.

Pulling in a deep breath in an attempt to calm his jangling nerves, Matthew walked upstairs and toward his brother’s bedroom. The door was closed. He knocked. “You decent?”

“Yeah,” Isaac replied, “close enough.”

Stepping into the room, Matthew looked at his brother. He was half-dressed, ready for his shift at the doctor’s surgery, where he was a general practitioner. “Sorry to interrupt, mate, but that was Richard on the phone. They’ve found a mutilated sheep up on the moor, and he’s asked me to go with him to check it out.”

Isaac paused with one arm pushed into his shirtsleeve. “He doesn’t think—”

Matthew cut him off. “No. He was quite adamant about that. He just thought we’d be able to help figure out what did it. I explained that you’ve got to go to work, though. I’m going to head across there now and go up with him.”

“I could phone in, let them know I’ll be late.”

Matthew held up his hand. “There’s no need, brother. Relax. Just go to work and help the sick people. I’ll let you know what—if anything—I find out.”

Opening his mouth, then closing it again, Isaac seemed to have thought better of whatever he was going to say. He continued to dress. “All right, I will. But make sure you let me know what happens. Send me a text or something, and I’ll phone you as soon as I have a gap in between patients.”

Matthew grimaced. He hated texting. Hated mobile phones, actually. Technology was one of the things he disliked most about modern-day life, though he realized it was a necessary evil. It solved as many problems for him and his brother as it created, so he dealt with it as best he could. Fortunately, Isaac had always had an affinity with computers and phones, so he tutored Matthew.

“Yeah, all right. I’d better go and find my phone first then, eh?”

Smirking at his brother’s rolled eyes, he left the room and headed for his own bedroom, where he thought he’d left the device the previous night before he and Isaac had headed for the caves. Immediately spotting the mobile phone—which Isaac often made a point of telling him was akin to a brick—he grabbed it, stuffed it into his pocket, and made his way downstairs.

Retrieving his keys from the hook by the front door, he called up to his brother. “I’m going now, Isaac. I’ll see you after my shift at the pub. I’m working until closing time.”

“Okay. Don’t forget to keep me posted!”

“I won’t.” As if he could forget. The dead sheep was going to be a big thing, he just knew it. The vicar might not think he and his brother had anything to do with it, but some of the other villagers might. When there was no proof either way, just his and Isaac’s word, it was understandable, really. Since he and his brother changed into wolves every full moon, it was a natural conclusion to draw. Particularly since normal wolves had been extinct in England for over five hundred years.

Ruler’s Concubine by Peri Elizabeth Scott

Congratulations to Peri Elizabeth Scott on your new release!

Thank you for having me! Ruler’s Concubine represents two different species attempting a connection, and proves that regardless of distinct differences, love will carry the day.

Rulers-Concubine-evernightpublishing-2016-finalimage.jpg

Blurb:

Meridia is headed for extinction, unless a compatible species can be found. The backward planet, Earth, the one the Meridians stripped of technology now holds the only promising species in the Galaxy. As Ruler, Lysett Daboort will do his duty and choose a royal concubine from those women ‘liberated’ from Earth, but that is all it will be—until he meets Celeste Raynor.

Celeste is barely subsisting on Earth and isn’t enamored with becoming one of Meridia’s concubines, despite the esteem afforded their females. But there is nothing left for her at home and she isn’t averse to having a child to love, not to mention a caring, supportive partner. Until she meets the Ruler himself.

The Ruler resists Celeste’s appeal and she refuses his arrogant approach, yet they must somehow come to terms. Lysett rules supreme, or does he? Because love has the most power of all.

Excerpt:

This isn’t happening. This is not happening. If she kept repeating those words then surely it would be true and she’d miraculously wake up from this erotic nightmare and in her own bed. Except it wasn’t a nightmare and she most certainly wasn’t in her assigned bed—or even on her own planet. Although her imagination was fertile—and she’d seen pictures of him—it was unlikely to manifest the enormously good looks and incredible physique of the alien male who was stripping right before her very eyes. Yes, stripping. Removing all of his clothes, not five feet from where she lay on a bed constructed of some otherworldly material that both cushioned and restrained her. Had it only been yesterday when Bast told her today would be the day? No wonder she hadn’t slept well, thinking about this. And why did this Ruler look even better in person?

Once he’d overcome his reticence to speak so frankly with her, Bast had prepared her with stories of his Master’s need, of his sexual prowess and all the pleasures he would bestow, not to mention that cup of elixir she’d swallowed down.

Being assured it was the planet’s best aphrodisiac had her quaffing the liquid as though it were a life saver. Its effects were marked almost immediately as she cataloged an increase in her body temperature and a definite aching in her private parts with embarrassingly obvious lubrication accompanying the throbbing. Even her breasts had ached, the nipples tightening and beading in reaction to the potion.

But the effect had worn off because Lysett had been detained for a considerable period. The delay had given her too much time to reflect on her decision and the strange glowing feelings throughout her body had diminished—until he walked through the door. His good looks stole her breath, and when he began to take his clothes off, she wanted to do shocking, sexual things with him. The emotional and physical swings made her stomach lurch.

Her uninfluenced sexual-self recognized the potency of such a male, and to say she wasn’t naturally aroused would be untrue. Her body acknowledged a male suited to her, awash with chemistry and basic animal instinct. It was simply the circumstances that brought her here, and the stark implications of the contract that spoiled their first interaction. Why hadn’t he deviated from so-called royal tradition and spent some time with her beforehand? Surely Bast had relayed that even an initial chat would be optimum.

Celeste’s heart rate doubled, then tripled, when Lysett’s erection sprang forth as his lower garments were yanked down, and dark spots swam in her vision. That part of him was a duskier gold than the rest of his burnished skin, and freaking huge.

“Shhh, Lady.” Bast’s caramel tones spoke soothingly in her right ear, and one of his hands tentatively patted her shoulder. She’d very nearly forgotten he was still in the room with her—with her and his Master, although he had handled the process clinically and indicated he would leave before… “You are prepared for this union, as we discussed. It will be over before you know it, and if you get with offspring this first time, there will be no need for further joinings. Unless you wish them. And to beget other children.”

Well, didn’t that make her feel special? No pressure either. Merely a vessel out here in space, far away from home, to be used. She blinked away the tears that welled in reaction. Where was her voice? She could still say no…

The Ruler paused in his approach to the bed and glared at Bast after he spoke, though that look encompassed her as well. Celeste had never felt so naked—or so vulnerable. She knew what was supposed to happen. She thought she was ready. Not. And to think she’d scoffed at the wait, chuckled about others procreating before this man. No one would dare. Shocking need warred with apprehension.

“You assured me she was prepared, Bast.” Lysett’s perfect features set in angry lines and those remarkable green eyes now appeared as cold and frozen as that small pond at her home place in the winter months. She tried to use the memory of Earth to distract her, and it caused a homesick shudder to take over her entire body, the gentle clasp of the bed’s fabric undulating to keep her in place.

Lysett’s attention snapped fully to her in an instant, his orbs now glowing with green fire as the vertical slash of his pupils elongated. His gaze raked her body, lingering on her breasts and the apex of her thighs. Despite her limited experience with men, let alone alien men, Celeste recognized lust and desire and her body responded. Or maybe it was apprehension.

“She is prepared, Master. I do assure you. It is merely that a period of time has passed since we expected you to attend her, and it is no surprise that your concubine is experiencing a trifle of anxiety.”

Even with the translator chip, Bast’s wording felt off to her, and she decided to add her own voice. This was going to happen, this attending to her, no matter how she second-guessed her decision, and she believed Bast when he promised she’d be safe here. Having sex—joining—with his Master until she conceived was something she could do. Women did it all the time, had done it over the eons. It wasn’t like she was being forced or anything. And she wasn’t a prostitute, although that profession got a bad rap as far as she was concerned when one considered women had to survive somehow.

She was, according to the contract, a revered commodity, a virgin concubine—who wasn’t going to be a virgin much longer—a concubine who would bear a child for the alien ruler, right? And if the baby was female, she too would be cherished and Lysett would try again to beget a son. And again… All of Bast’s teachings slipped through her brain with lightning speed. Celeste shivered and quit thinking about all those possibilities and focused on what she’d been promised.

She would want for nothing, be well taken care of, and ultimately, kept safe. The presenter’s words and those of Bast rattled around in her head. Given her past circumstances, it was a no-brainer, and she couldn’t go home. Her body was up for it, and her mind had accepted it was the best out of all her choices. So it must be her heart throwing up the roadblock, looking for romance, all because of his pictures and the wonderful things his first servant had said about him.

That was nonsense. Just look at the agony love caused a person. Her stupid heart must be masochistic. This was the best deal she’d get and it was time she said something. There was no way she could go through this process again. Humiliation drowned her common sense. She moistened her lips and addressed Lysett, who was busily engaged in a staring contest with Bast.

“I am prepared, sir. Sir. Ruler. I won’t give you any trouble.”

His eyes froze through to their depths again and his dark brows drew together. She noted his erection didn’t flag at all, though. He might be annoyed, but it didn’t affect his arousal. The wide head glistened in the well-lit chamber, with his natural lubricant beading at the tiny slit. She had timidly asked if her deflowering couldn’t take place in the dark, but Bast refused, saying that tradition didn’t allow it. Spread eagle as she was, there was little left to the imagination, and she flushed again with embarrassment and no small shame. Lysett was superbly made, muscled and lean, with broad shoulders, long thick legs, and narrow hips. She was … well, she was short, and small and round, now that she’d had enough to eat. So not like the remaining Meridian females on this planet. And certainly not the cream of the crop of the human females either.

“You were not given leave to speak.”

Celeste didn’t much care for the way he snarled at her, Ruler or not.

Alpha Revealed (Fated Foxes #2) by Jocelyn Dex

Congratulations to Jocelyn Dex on your new release!

Hi! Thanks for stopping by and checking out my new release!

I have to admit, I was a little worried when writing this story. Why? Well, the hero is older and the heroine is younger. Some people are totally cool with that, but some are not. Also, the hero doesn’t have the typical six-pack abs. Nope. He has a beer belly. I could have changed either or both of those things, but ultimately, I wrote the story I wanted to write and the characters the way I envisioned them. I hope readers will give the beer-bellied hero a chance!

When Kaylee is forced to reveal her true self, undeniable sparks fly between them even though Jeb tries to keep his lustful urges at bay. But when the danger returns to haunt her and threatens to rip them apart, will they overcome or admit defeat?

Excerpt

Kaylee stretched her fox legs and immediately regretted it. The sharp pain in her stomach was like a punch in the face, memories flooding in. She felt the knife sinking into her all over again. What a psycho bastard. Okay, she could totally understand his shock, but to stab her… She sure knew how to pick them.

She tried to get up, but it hurt, the stitches pulling, and she was afraid to pop one. Dammit. She had to pee. Considering she was in a strange man’s bed, she probably ought to be frightened, but she wasn’t. He’d been so kind and caring. As soon as he’d spoken to her, she’d felt in her bones he wouldn’t hurt her. And she couldn’t deny he was pretty hot for an older guy.

She tried again to get up. Crap. She really didn’t want to pee in the man’s bed. How embarrassing and gross. She let out a series of yips and hoped for the best.

There was a scratching at the door and an excited bark. Oh, no. In her experience, dogs weren’t exactly fond of her kind, especially not in shifted form.

“Back, Hobo,” she heard a voice say. He knocked and said, “Comin’ in.”

The door opened slowly. Her body tensed as the dog ran in and jumped on the bed next to her.

“Hobo! No!”

The dog licked her behind the ears and she breathed a sigh of relief when she didn’t sense any aggression.

“Get down. Now,” the man said again in a stern voice as he rushed to her side. The dog hung his head but obeyed and trotted out of the room.

“Sorry about that. He’s used to, uh, your kind. Doesn’t mean any harm. You feelin’ okay? I have some painkillers that should work for ya.”

Why did he keep talking to a fox as if it were human? Not that she minded, but it seemed odd. Maybe he was a bit of a nutcase in addition to being a nice guy. She had more urgent matters to deal with at that moment though, so she whimpered. He had a dog. Surely he would figure out that foxes had to pee too.

He bent over her and inspected her wound. “Looks good. Much better than last night.” He looked her right in the eyes. “Bet you’re hungry. I’ll go get ya a plate.”

She panicked when he turned to leave. Sure, she was hungry, but she had to get to a bathroom. Fast. She whimpered louder this time.

He spun around, concern shone in his eyes. “I’m sorry I don’t speak fox, but if you can shift and talk to me, I’ll do whatever I can to help.”

Her eyes bugged. Did he say “shift”? He knew? He couldn’t. It wasn’t possible. Was it? His scent was human, and he said he didn’t speak fox so what the hell was he talking about?

“Maybe ya can’t shift,” he said more to himself than to her. “I’ll call my friend. He’s like you. He’ll be able to understand.”

He had a shifter friend? Well, that explained it, but she’d never known any shifters who shared their secret with humans. How long would it take the friend to get there? If it was more than sixty seconds, she was definitely going to embarrass herself. When he turned to leave again, she shifted.

“Wait,” she pleaded and tried not to freak that she’d just shifted in the presence of a human. Again.

When he turned back around, his mouth dropped open, his eyes practically bugging out of his head. “Jesus Christ Almighty,” he muttered before covering his eyes with a large hand.

Dark Captive – Manlove gets “Top Pick” award and two raving 5-star reviews!!

It’s a good day to be a dark erotic SM author. The bestselling Evernight anthology I’ve participated in, Dark Captive – Manlove Edition, was given the “Top Pick” award from The Romance Reviews today, as well as a five-star review.

trrtoppicks

It also received a ‘Five Shooting Stars’ review from Redz World Reviews, where my story Get Off Hard was given heartwarming praise:

“The next story I would say for me stood out is a new to me author. Get Off Hard by Lea Bronsen. In this story we have two hot hockey players who cannot decide if they want to kill each other or well be between the sheets with each other. Their story has many layers to it. One is a rookie who has had a rough time of it. He needs to have faith again. The other is a pro who has a ton of past pain he is carrying around. These two could have had a much longer story, I did feel this short was just a beginning for them. Loved the connection and the whole story itself for this one.”

So far, we have 5 books planned in the series, but I wouldn’t be surprised if more sprout up along the way. All three of us fell in love with this mysterious world Beyond The Veil as well as our very overprotective Shifters on this side of the Veil.

Excerpt:

When she stepped out of the bathroom, Donovan and Jason were waiting for her in the bedroom. Donovan sat at the edge of the king-sized bed while Jason looked at her from the armchair next to it. She didn’t miss the fact that they both ogled her bare legs as she stepped closer to them. She felt her entire body heat up from the intensity of their stares.

“I like the way my shirt looks on you, angel.” Donovan’s voice was low and husky. He got up suddenly from the bed to stand in front of her. “Talk to us, April. Please.”

“How could the two of you still possibly want me?” April’s words came out rushed and strangled. She closed her eyes, swallowing the rest of the speech she had prepared for them as if her vocal cords stubbornly refused to say goodbye to them.

“Cut that shit out, April,” Jason bellowed before he, too, stood before her. She flinched at the harshness of his tone. “I’m the one who failed you. Not the other way around.”

“How can you say that? It was me Kheelan was after all this time. Not you. He took Dee and God knows how many others, all to get to me. Oh God, Dee! Have they found her yet?”

“No,” Donovan said quietly. “But we will. I swear it.”

“He’ll just keep coming for me.” She reached out and placed her hand on Jason’s cheek. “I felt so helpless when you were in that cell. I can’t bear the thought of him hurting you like that again.” She turned to Donovan and put her other hand on his cheek. “And it’s not only Jason’s screams I dreamt about. Sometimes it was you I pictured Kheelan torturing. I’d rather die than to ever let him get his hands on either of you. Not when I can prevent it.” She took a deep steady breath. Her words would not fail her this time. “You both have to let me go.”

“Fuck that!” Jason growled. Before she even had time to blink, she found herself tossed on the bed. Her hands were held above her head by Donovan while Jason fiercely, unyieldingly took her mouth in a fiery kiss. She returned it with the same fervor, unable to help herself.

April had no time to think, to collect her thoughts, for as soon as Jason released her lips, Donovan took his place. He released the grip he had on her wrists, but instead of pushing him away, she wrapped her hands around his neck and pulled him closer to her. She’d only had a brief taste of him when he came to rescue her from the dungeons, so this felt like their first real kiss. She found her resolve quickly fading because she sensed their pain at the thought of her leaving them. She knew she didn’t have the strength to walk away from them on her own, and it seemed that neither of her stubborn men was willing to let her go.

When Donovan ended their kiss, he looked deeply into her eyes and cradled her face. Like that first night with Jason, she felt as if he could see the inside of her soul. He wasn’t repulsed by her or angry. Instead, he looked at her with longing and adoration.

“That’s not the way this works, my angel. Whatever happens to one of us, happens to all three.”

“And we would chase you to the ends of the Earth, April,” Jason added. “So don’t even think about running from us.”

“Let us show you how much we want you, angel.” Donovan nuzzled her ear as he spoke.

“Yes,” she whispered, closing her eyes, prompting Donovan to continue with his assault on her ear. He licked her inner shell then proceeded to torment her ear with soft bites and kisses, eliciting a few successive moans from her. He moved onto to delivering the same attention to her neck while Jason’s warm hands caressed her bare legs.

Donovan cupped her face. She opened up her eyes for a brief moment and saw him hovering over her. His lips quirked in an adorable sly smile before he pressed them to hers. He kissed her softly at first, their tongues barely touching, but when she hugged him to her tightly, he deepened the kiss, moaning into her mouth. His hand cupped her breast over the thick sweatshirt, but she felt it searing into her skin as if she had been wearing nothing at all.

She felt Jason shift in between her legs. His hands roamed up her thighs, and under her shirt, stopping at her hips. He placed his forehead on her lower stomach. “Do you have any idea how difficult it has been lying here, not touching you, knowing you had nothing underneath this sweatshirt?” His voice, muffled by said shirt, sounded strained.

Donovan hummed in agreement and moved on to kissing her neck. She nudged him a little so that he could give her room to sit up. She then lifted her hands in the air. It didn’t take long for them to catch her meaning. Donovan peeled off the sweatshirt from her body, slowly revealing every naked inch of her to their gaze.

ABOUT SARAH MARSH

Sarah Marsh was born in British Columbia where she still lives. She has only recently began her writing career, finding it the perfect outlet for taking the edge off a nine to five office job. She’s been a science fiction and romance junkie for years and when her imagination started to take the characters she’d read about even further in their adventures, she decided to try writing something of her own.

Sarah’s also a former pastry chef and spends a lot of time cooking and baking for friends and family as well as painting and knitting. Her biggest weaknesses are animals of any kind … she even loves the ones that wake you up at four in the morning because they can almost see the bottom of their food dish.

When it comes to life in general, she’s a big believer that laughter is the best medicine and that there’s no such thing as too much love, which is why she’s such a sucker for a happy ending.
