The Perfect Shoot is book one of the erotic interracial romance series Hot Model Mine, voted “Sizzling Read of the Month” for November 2014 at Sizzling Hot Books.
Surely, this story has to be every author’s fantasy: to meet the gorgeous cover model of your book! Erotic romance Andrea has had a secret crush on sex-on-legs model Yushka for a while, but when they meet at an author conference in Cannes and he insists on dating, she questions his sincerity – she’s not willing to have her heart hurt a second time, either. The problem is, the handsome young man just won’t take a no for an answer…

Book two of the Hot Model Mine series, Mine to Love, is currently in the making. What would you want to see happen between Andrea and Yushka?
Now hop on to the next blog – your Holiday Hangover continues here!
I’m so pleased to share this beautiful book cover with y’ all 🙂 It captures the hero and heroine in the hottest scene of the story, obsessed with each other yet deeply distraught while under the scrutiny of a gold-digging photographer. A big thank you to the Evernight team and Sour Cherry Design!
“When Andrea Johnson, writing as author Cindy Vega, signed up for a Meet & Greet with the cover model of her latest book, she didn’t expect sparks to fly. Yushka is dangerously goodlooking and too young for her. But their connection is instantaneous, and during a photo shoot with the two, the photographer picks up on their growing attraction. Seeing the potential for THE cover photo of the century, he decides to push their comfort limits…”
I just typed “The End”! meaning book 1 of the Hot Model Mine novella series is finished 🙂 I got there faster and smoother than expected. Um, that sounded a little dirty but was unintentional, lol.
“When I open my eyes, face down in the dirt, it’s still too dark to be morning.
Looming silhouettes of boulders and trees surround me, animated by the soft swing of hanging branches. The river noisily swooshes by a few meters away, bringing a constant humidity that impregnates everything from the pores in my skin to my too-thin clothing.
Roots and stones scattered in the hard soil press against my stomach and chest, but after endless hours of lying on the biting cold riverside, I’m so numb I could care less. Regular shivers run through my body, the only signs of life beside the small fogs of breath escaping my nose. And the painful cramps stiffening my legs every now and then, that I wait out until the hurting muscles relax and soothing warmth washes over.
But I’m so tired of breathing, tired of fighting to live.”
How exciting! Evernight Publishing is holding the Final Voting Process to their RCA for 2013, and My Biggest Fan made it to the semi-final in the category “May/December”. Also semi-finalist in the category “Hottest Bad Boy” is none other than groove rock star Shawn Torien! It’s a true honor to be nominated among so many talented authors.
Please leave your Final Votes here . Polls open until 30th Nov.
Following the recent release of my rock star romance My Biggest Fan, I am starting a new weekly feature discussing the world of rock music with my very own star and book hero, Shawn Torien. The sweet thing has kindly agreed to take time off of a busy tour schedule to chat with me.
“Hi, Shawn.” I glance at the young leather-clad guy with the spiked hair and dark doe eyes. He slouches in a comfy chair opposite me, cross-legged, the usual cigarette in hand. He’s so gorgeous, he easily intimidates me. Thank God he’s already taken. Samantha would kill me if she knew how I feel about him.
“Hey.” He gives me a cute, heart-melting smile, and I know I’m lost.
Cheeks flushing, I look down at my notebook and pretend to read my questions. I need a few seconds to get back in control. “Uhm… Thanks for taking the time to see me.”
“Anytime, babe.”
At these words, my heart misses a beat. The guy has the same goddamn appeal as when I first started writing about him. After a few moments, I take a deep breath, look up, and meet his playful stare.
He winks. “Can I ask you something, Lea?”
“Uhm, yes, sure.”
“The readers already know a lot about me, but what about you? Why did you choose to write about this?
“This?”
“The world of rock ‘n roll.”
I shrug. “Well, like you, I was a rebel teen. Drawn to the faster, angrier and dirtier kind of music. Proudly shocking not only my parents but the neighbors, teachers, fellow students, everyone.”
He chuckles, takes a drag of his cigarette, and eyes me through the swirling smoke. “And now?”
“Good question. With age, I’ve matured and learned to hide my affiliation. You know, in order to get a job and all. To comply. So I got rid of the boot chains, the skull rings, the heavy metal jacket patches”—I smile, remembering my past attire—“but my love of rock is still very much alive!”
“And it’s culminated in the writing of a book. How cool.”
“Yeah. But enough about me. Shawn, in the first chapter you mention being called the new Nikki Sixx. So what does he mean to you, and how has his music influenced you?”
He grins, eyes shiny, and I get a glimpse of the little boy growing up a devoted rock fan.
“Mötley Crüe is one of the first bands I ever listened to. Their first album came out in 1980, when I was still a kid. It was the epitome of dirty, groovy rock ‘n roll, mixing punk with sleazy boogie, glam, and heavy rock. And their attitude! Trashing and fucking everything, giving shit, total destroy.”
I nod, recalling the good old days. “Yeah, they were a phenomenon. So what song would you recommend for your readers?”
“What kinda question is that, Lea? There are so many tracks to choose from.”
“Well, the one that’s closest to your heart?”
He holds my gaze, but his dark pupils grow unfocused, dreamy.
“Hmm. Kickstart my Heart. What a punch in the face that was. So fast, so powerful, like a jet taking off. And as the title says, it jumpstarts your heart, turns its beat up, and keeps the speed till the last note, leaving you breathless and needing more.”
“Oh, I love it! Excellent choice! Here’s the official video for our readers.”
“Wild Hearted” is a short, intense train ride of a novel that takes you effortlessly into its story of a seemingly unredeemable inner-city crime lord and the woman he falls in love with. The pace is fast, and the characters colorful. More so than other romance fiction, “Wild Hearted” has a very dark, noir quality — of gritty crime, tough inner-city neighborhoods, hurt people and broken dreams…..it does not soft-pedal this atmosphere to let the protagonists (Tomor and Luz) fall in love. In fact, the ending is not the usual “and then everything was all flowers and roses”, but leaves the reader in a dark place, without diminishing the character’s complexity or challenges.
The ending is open and ambiguous enough that it is not hard to imagine a sequel or two, continuing the twists and turns of this story.
It is easy to imagine “Wild Hearted” filmed in black and white, with long deep shadows and darkened streets….it’s a very bracing change from the typical character romance. Author Lea Bronsen is very talented, and has a keen eye for detail. I look forward to reading more of her fiction.
